Thanks for the added detail. There are some issues that are not always easy to write about. I am sure if we all were in a room together it would have been easier to explain. May I ask who are you planning to call at Crystal? I only ask if your purpose is to recommend that Crystal make it easier for people to understand on their website you might consider writing something up and have your TA send it to someone at Crystal who could actually do something about this if they thought your recommendation was valid? I am not being argumentative just trying to be helpful. I am a visual person and would recommend you give specific examples if you do a write-up. The official waitlist program is really designed for a specific category rather than a specific room which I believe from your post you now understand. I've only been waitlisted when I have a booking but had them waitlist me for another category. One time we were trying to get a specific room to avoid moving before the start of a World Cruise but that had to be checked manually by our TA every so often. I thought the poster said that the price was higher than when they did the waitlist. This has not been the easiest thread to follow.

I don't disagree. Some of the Q&A's on the website do need to be updated and I do think the write-up on evening formal attire needs to be clearer. I don't see big changes on it but again the needed to make the verbiage clearer. Keith

A lot of the counts have to do with the majority of people had cruises booked with other cruise lines. We have some friends who would have booked a cruise for this year but had other cruises and would have lost money to cancel.

I hadn't realized you didn't put money down. If someone doesn't have a deposit I can easily see why the price could change. Other than the price may I ask where they have not been more cohesive with the rules. Just curious. Good luck with all of this on Monday. Holiday cruises with Crystal are terrific. Keith

I am not sure about now but shortly after this came out you could book it as one cruise and it did include a back to back 5% discount off the rate or you could book just one of the two cruises. Keith

I think it is that. If it was Manhattan one of the excursions wouldn't be Brooklyn Highlights. I would have your TA contact Crystal to be 100% sure but my understanding is Brooklyn from what some other people on that cruise have said. Keith

When I first went to the website i saw the lower price of $8,500.00 and didn't go further so I see what you are saying. I do know that the from price has not always held up and I have no experience on whether or not a wait list locked you in. Not a wait list but I did have one booking where it said from and it was for a room where there is not difference in price based on location as they are all near one another and paid more than the from. I guess I would have the TA take one more run on this one. Keith

I see. It's interesting I don't see any room starting at $9,100.00 for that cruise although I see one starting at $9,000.00. Is this the 12/18/24 to 1/7/25 cruise? The one at $9,100.00 shows is a single guest room. Can you let us know what category? I now understand that you are asking what the experience is for someone clearing a waitlist. Two things. Anyone will be able to review the itineraries when they are released so now worries there. As to making a booking, Crystal has a record of each person including the number of cruises taken and their Crystal Society number so when you book they will know this. If you would like to confirm this just call reservations (or if you have a TA they can do this) and confirm that the cruises you know you have sailed match up to what they show for you. Keith

Without knowing all the details we really can't be certain. Is it a room where the pricing is from? In other words are all the rooms the same price or is it a category where the prices might range by location. You could ask but I don't believe a waitlist locks you in for the price but I could be wrong. This is something you should have your TA run down for ou. Keith

Yes there are people (men and women) who do not wash hands after using the restroom. Another good reason to avoid shaking hands. I believe most people are back to pre-covid and that includes getting inches aways from others, hugging, kissing, coughing and not covering mouth, sneezing and not covering nose, etc. etc., etc., I see this all the time including when we traveled, on flights, at the airport, and in other places including home town. We had adopted our own set of practices before COVID and while they don't prevent getting sick they do reduce the odds and we stepped it up after COVID and still wear masks. Keith

I didn't ask but believe it is business as usual. Cruise lines like most places on land are operating as they did before Covid with just a few exceptions. I suspect (just a guess that there are protocols should there be a large breakout as there are for a large breakout of norovirus. Once they hit a pre-determined threshold they take actions with norovirus. Keith

And that is why I said it is usually the same time each year. Not rocket science but this is not like the NFL Schedule where it changes each year. Keith
