@Dobby36, nice meeting you too.  I played trivia several times and thought some of the questions were really strange.  What Asia cruise did you book? I'm going on the 28-day Noordam cruise that leaves Singapore on January 5, 2025 and goes through Indonesia.

@RozDH and I will be on the Jan. 5, 2025 cruise too. I'm always looking for someone to play trivia with since DH avoids it. Hope we can meet up. --Susie

  2. If you take the train, it would be a bit of back and forth, but the Light Rail goes to SEATAC and lots of decent hotels. Then Light Rail back to downtown and a quick cab to the port. I think I'd rent a car though. DH had to do that when we stayed the night before a cruise in Vancouver. We left one bag on the porch so he rented the car, drove back to Seattle, grabbed the bag and headed back to Vancouver. The border officer did question his quick turnaround in a rental car 🤪.

  3. I love the new electronic digital door lock DH installed a year or 2 ago (can’t remember exactly when 😛), especially since DGD could never remember her key. It’s nice that a temporary code can be used for a visitor or delivery.

Today we're heading out to get a number of keys cut for our new front door - for our family, and to give some to trusty neighbours in the event we ever get locked out.

  4. I finally looked up my mother’s rhubarb pie recipe. A bit lighter in calories, I think.

3 cups rhubarb, cut into 1 inch pieces

    2 eggs, slightly beaten

1 1/2 cups sugar ( more or less on your sweetness preference)

    1/4 cup flour

Mix flour and sugar together, then mix with eggs. Add rhubarb and mix well.

Add to pie shell and cover with a lattice pastry.

    Bake at 425 degrees-15 minutes

Lower temp and continue baking 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

It was a prize winner many years ago.

  5. Is there much of a price difference if you book 2 separate cruises? And can you keep the same cabin? Also, would it make a difference with OBC or other extra benefits? I think if there wasn’t much difference I’d book 2 separate cruises.

  6. We were just in Amsterdam last month after a cruise. We used Uber from the port to our city center hotel. I think it was $18.  Oops, I goofed. This is from Amsterdam, not Rotterdam. Sorry. Uber from Amsterdam to Schiphol was $33.
