There was a tornado in southwest Washington a few days ago--but I don't think the winds made it to Seattle. 😊

A funny side story about water. When we boarded our Alaska Air flight the 1st class seats had their water waiting for them in milk carton type containers. Back in coach if you asked for water you received the small plastic bottles. 🤔

Have a great journey-just sad we won’t see you on the TA.

We're on a HAL TA from Barcelona starting October 30. So far it's a go but the cruise was cancelled for all non-US citizens.

Seems strange to call the wonderful artwork "graffiti".

@cat shepardWe also have a Bosch. I love the small top rack and it is very quiet. But my dishes don't fit very well. You might want to take a couple of bowls and mugs to see how they stack in the racks.

Just got back from receiving our booster shots. They made a new card out for us. They stated “you can only have one card!” So far feeling OK!
@aliaschiefThat's strange about having one card. I went to our local pharmacy where we had our jabs (and the booster an hour ago) to have my card changed to my legal name rather than Susie. He let me keep both cards.

I've found I can set something (like my little kitchen fan) on top of the air fryer and just move it a bit when I set the time and temp. A small bit of space saving (or just more clutter in one spot?)

Home from Colorado and a busy time with the grandsons-especially the 7th birthday party with 10 noisy little boys! But fun. And it was lovely with low 80's and a gentle breeze most days. Portobellos are great but not so sure about adding onion jam. @grapau27Graham, the drops for 3 weeks are the worst part of the cataract procedure IMO. Glad to hear it went well.

We did a 3 week trip to Australia and spent a week in Port Douglas and a couple of days in Cairns. Snorkeling was wonderful!

Every time I see these glasses the first think I think of is chicken legs-kind of dumb thought! You'd think I'd learn by now.

It's raining-really raining! The ground hasn't been this wet since June. I just hope it continues for a few more hours. I guess I missed celebrating Grandparents Day by 1 day. I fly to Colorado tomorrow to visit my 2 grandsons for a week.

@kazuThanks for the heads up on the tv program "Race the Tide". It was amazing what the sculptors could do with sand in just a few hours. But sad to see all the hard work get washed away.
My sewing machine has been getting a workout the last couple of years. My sewing group of 14 sent 400 comfort quilts to the U of Washington hospital last year. We're behind this year with almost 200. Fun group and feels good too!

My "whine" of choice for the day-where's the rain? Officially SEATAC airport had 1/2 " of rain August 6 but we didn't see it. Barely 5 minutes of moisture since then. At least the dandelions are turning brown along with everything else. Remind me of this in January! 😊

We have very strange deer in our yard. Not only do they love the petunias, they love the cat. There are 2 different deer that will lick the cat until he is a slobbery mess. He will turn his head to get the other side "massaged". It's crazy to watch. And now the deer are standing on their hind legs trying to pick the plums off the tree which we hope will ripen so we can pick them before the raccoons raid the tree. Nothing more frustrating than to plan to pick the plums and find a bare tree with a ring of pits on the ground. Ah, rural living!

Thank you!! 52 years is looooong time, isn't it?
@StLouisCruisersIt will be 52 years for us in December and that number does make it seem like forever but the mind disagrees. Congrats!

😄 All the seaweed in the photo with the puppy reminded me of my 7th grade Science Fair project. I dried that seaweed, ground it into flour and made chocolate chip cookies with it. Goofed on the 1st batch when I added salt. Food from the Sea was my title. And no, I never ate any. I said I had to be the one to remain to record reactions !??

We have premium economy on British and are unable to select seats until 24 hours before the flight.

Curry powder sprinkled on sweet potato fries is yummy. You can make a curry aioli but I'm too lazy.

Mother Nature certainly isn't being kind. Sad to read of all the flooding on the East coast and then no rain near Seattle. We have not had more than 5 minutes of moisture since early June. The most dramatic scene is Mt. Rainier with almost no snow. Have never seen it that bare.
There is one other test you want to fail-when you have a test to see if your eyelids droop enough to have insurance cover having them fixed. 🙂
Have a safe weekend everyone.

I laugh when I say I haven't gotten far in life. We're living in the house my parents built 2 years before I was born. I do have the bigger bedroom now though. So my old bedroom has had my daughter and now her daughter is living with us and using it (along with her cat and rabbits).
I think we've replaced just about everything so who knows what will go next.
