I’m wondering the same thing. And if that’s the case then why are there $63 bottles that say they’re premium plus, but $27 bottles that aren’t?

Well I sure appreciate the updates Jim. But this is definitely not getting me excited for my upcoming Breakaway cruise. I’m sure mine is going to be as full as yours is this week and between the crowds and the restaurant issues this is really making me feel like the good ole days are gone!

I ate at Q on the Bliss and I’d say it’s pretty good as long as your expectations aren’t too high. Obviously you’re not getting real Texas bbq pitmaster style food on a cruise ship. That being said, you don’t necessarily need an open flame to make good barbecue. There are electric smokers nowadays that do a damn good job.

Well I knew I needed to lower my expectations on the beer selection, but wow. Not a single IPA on the ship? 🤯

When I was on the Bliss I heard that if you order an Irish coffee at the atrium bar they actually get the coffee from Starbucks next door. I don’t know if they do that on the Breakaway but it might be worth a shot.

I too am curious about what happened when you didn’t sign the waiver. You said the bus was already an hour away from the port. Did you have to just sit out the excursion and wait while everyone else did it? I think at that point I would have saiid just give the damn thing and I’ll sign it. But maybe they’re banking on people like me who they know will cave in and that’s why they wait until they get far from the port!

I have to disagree with Gary on this one. I’ve been all over the Caribbean and I’ve never felt unsafe outside the port area at any of the places I’ve been.

Pro tip: if you’re on the west coast you can do it at 9pm 😉

Hey Gary, thanks for the info. Glad to hear you had a better experience at Ocean Blue, we ate there on the Bliss and it was the best meal we’ve had at sea. I can’t wait to try it on the Breakaway in March! I'm curious about what you referred to as the “beer pub”. I know there isn’t a District Brew House like on the Bliss but now you’ve got me excited that there might at least be something similar.

Where is it listed whether it’s going to be docked or tendered? I don’t see anything about it on my reservation.

I’m confused as to why you decided to bail on the whole trip instead of flying to the first port. After going through all that I think I would have done whatever I could do to get to the ship instead of just turning around and going home. Since it’s a 10 day cruise you would still have a lot of your vacation left.

Our kids are the exact same age as yours, a boy and a girl. On our most recent cruise in March we finally got them their own room and now I don’t think we can ever go back. We had a balcony and we got them an inside room right across from us. It was so great! We loved having the extra space and they loved being able to sleep in without being bothered. We could still all fit in one cabin if we really had to but it was so much nicer this way. We’ve booked two more cruises with two rooms for next year.

I saw this on @Jamman54’s fantastic trip report. Does anyone know if you can pre-book it or does it have to be done once you’re on the ship?
