  1. That is the email address we always use with very organised, prompt results. Our friends tried the email with Princess in the name with very poor outcome each time.
  2. I'm always amazed that these 'poor Aussies ' are still ignorant of the scooter rules on almost all policies. There have been dozens and dozens of news articles regarding scooter accidents not covered over past few years. Do they never read the news??? A few policies do cover you if you have a motorcycle licence in Australia and hire a scooter overseas, but generally it's definitely a no-no when travelling these days.
  3. I understand the App only shows packages purchased post-booking. So if you booked the cruise with the Plus Option, it will never show under Packages on the App. Just go with the travel summary or cruise personaliser website.
  4. Princess definitely applying the 90 day rule at the moment in Australia, but I think the broker in this case is a bit lacking. I bought shares when they hit rock bottom. In Australia, I used CMC and so easy to download an acceptable document online any day with required holding information. Definitely no waiting for a quarterly statement. Shows all details and holding in your Portfolio as at that day. Always accepted by Princess. Are you sure CommSec doesn't have an equivalent page you can screenshot. Or as someone else suggested, use your Portfolio Statement at today's date together with another page from the same online site that does show full member details and date.
  5. Hopefully someone with more recent experience will advise soon. We went a couple years prior to covid and used a very reliable bus service. Bought ticket at well signed desk in airport and bus stand just outside airport terminal. Well organised and staff assisted with luggage.
  6. Unfortunately our last steakhouse meal was on Carnival Luminosa. We could not hear a conversation at all as it was on a high deck level but open to the atrium below so whatever was playing in the atrium bar/stage came straight up and drowned out any attempt at conversation. It was so loud on our night, and not pleasant, so ruined the evening. Apart from that we really liked the Luminosa and did three cruises on her.
  7. The Grand, the Royal and Majestic all have zero single supplement on their repositioning cruises (from USA to either Sydney or Auckland) in September and October this year.
  8. Absolutely agree. The Vines on Grand and Majestic are worlds apart. Loved the Grand concept, and our MDR waiters were happy to grab a bottle of our favourite ones from there in the evening to serve us on the Plus Package by the glass. The Majestic Vines wasn't even worth visiting again after one short visit. Sadly, our next Princess cruise is on Majestic and a bit late to change.
  9. In the event you can't find the level of cover you prefer, would your Westpac card insurance cover you for cruise and covid without covering you for pre-existing condition? Not everyone chooses or are able to cover all pre-existing conditions. We wish you all the best going forward regarding your diagnosis.
  10. For others seeking Luminosa feedback, please remember that her first six months of service were based in Australia. Australians tend to leave their feedback on the CC forum page for Australia and New Zealand cruising rather than on this main page. So you could 'jump forum' and read lots of Luminosa feedback. We did three cruises on her during her Australian season and loved the ship.
  11. I'm sure there's no process available to have your insurance cover verified in advance of embarkation day. As others have advised, request your insurance provider to provide you a certificate of cover. Check it mentions cruise cover. My ANZ card cover has a website to check your cover and request email confirmation of cover so no need to contact insurer directly. You just select credit card type, I select Worldwide as destination, enter who is travelling and travel dates and they'll send email confirmation.
  12. Thanks very much for that information. We'll definitely make use of that package. I must say it's much better value than Princess prices on bottled wines when we don't have a package.
  13. I would like your advice on the wine package please, as we board Splendor later this month and will be buying wine by the bottle. Do you order the package at any bar or Main Dining Room via waiter? Would both have a list of included wines? Is it only for consumption in dining room or could you take a bottle to your cabin? Thanks for this information and your other feedback on your Splendor cruise. Much appreciated.
  14. When people show up for boarding and don't have required insurance, they are sent to the 'naughty corner' of the terminal to arrange it by phone before they can board. These people don't have access to printer so they must accept screenshots if unable to print. But always best to print if you can.
  15. From August, I understand there is no longer a boarding time for anyone so you will be unable to select. You are able to arrive for boarding anytime during the boarding window. They will still have some form of priority boarding I believe, and a lane for people requiring assistance, but otherwise everyone turns up when it suits. Time will tell how effective this is ...
  16. There is a large American site for vacation planning that is handy for finding deals for over 55 discounts and solo travellers. I use it for researching overseas cruising in particular. Based on a large spreadsheet type display where you can sort by any column. Under custom search you can put up to four ports of call and search. You can change currency to AUD but it is not very accurate. Once you found a particular cruise you'd need to check prices on an Australian site where you could book.
  17. Did you notice though they still use real flames on the Baked Alaska. Haven't seen that on Princess for many years! But definitely not my favourite desert on any cruise line....
  18. By rotating through the three dinner venues on our first P&O. this year, we found that avoided the limited MDR. Enjoyed both Angelo's and Dragon Lady to give variety. At lunch, preferred the buffet where the Indian was the standout for us. On Encounter.
  19. I have a Lifou port scheduled on Carnival Splendor in a few week's time. Haven't heard it has been cancelled so fingers crossed. It will be good though to include ports of Mare and Isle of Pines again in future as both amongst my favourites.
  20. We, usually loyal Princess cruisers, did our first P&O Australia cruise this year. I must say we were very pleasantly surprised, and would not hesitate to book again with them.
  21. Really appreciate you taking the time to do a trip report on Splendor. We board her for the first time at the end of the month for 12 days (4+8). After having tried Luminosa earlier this year, know a little of what to expect from Carnival. Must say, we're really looking forward to it.
  22. Also on the topic of cheaper cruises, I noticed Carnival Luminosa has added a Senior Rate (55 or 60 years+) to two of it's January 2024 South Pacific cruises. Only affects the Balcony Rate. Doesn't require you to have a VIFP number or have done past carnival cruises. Best value is 21 January 7 night from Brisbane for around $780 Balcony (comes down from over $900 for non senior). It goes to one of my favourite ports, Mare. But it is in cyclone season. Like many I guess, there were such cheap carnival cruises last season, we'll probably hold off booking any until we see how good the last minute deals are this coming season!
  23. Having been a loyal Princess cruiser with a few dozen cruises done with them, and a smattering of other lines, we resisted ever booking a P&O Australia cruise due to reading other's reviews and our 'perception'. A few months ago, we decided to find out for ourselves and booked P&O Encounter for a seven night Qld trip. Loved it! Based on that single experience, we think we'd enjoy a 32 nighter with them. But other commitments next year will prevent us booking. Could P&O have improved post-covid?
  24. Wow - that's news to me. Very interesting. Can others booking direct through Princess confirm this. I always have a few on hand. I assume my TA only applies one each time. Is the example in question able to be booked as two back to back and Princess treating it as two cruises?
  25. I'll have to check our ANZ card insurance. I've always assumed it covered Norfolk Island - we go over to Norfolk Island every year as love the swimming and snorkeling there. I must say I worry less about cancellation costs than huge medical bills when I travel.
