Yes, closed toe shoes are required on all ships for cooking classes and Chef's table, as you go into an area where health and safety regulations are in place. I purchased fold up ballet sleippers on Amazon and they come in really handy and take up little space.

Yeah, that is what I am afraid of. I do not want to violate any policies, I just wondered if there is a legitimate way to bring back spirits (not for consumption on the ship)

Thank you Pstcrik, we have sailed many times, but have never brought any spirits back on board due to fear of confiscation.

What are the rules concerning bringing back a bottle of Rum or a bottle of wine or beer from a port? Do they store it for you and then return it when you disembark? Thank you for your help if you have had personal experience with this in the past. There is some conflicting advice out there and I would like to clarify if possible.

Is there time to explore Whittier? 2.What is the provided transportation like? 3. We are looking for an opportunity to purchase a bottle or two of wine and spirits to enjoy in our cabins on our land portion of our trip. Anyone have experience with this? 4. Can you purchase spirits on the ship and take them with you on disembarkation? 5. Any advice regarding the land portion excursions is greatly appreciated. I booked the Tundra Wilderness Tour so far.

I have a few questions which my TA is unable to find answers to and would appreciate talking with someone who has actually done this cruise in the past. Most of my questions have to do with the disembarkation in Whittier and the time and travel spent in Denali and flying out of Fairbanks. Thanks in advance for any help.

Does anyone have experience with purchasing alcohol at ports to bring back on ship? Will they confiscate it and return it to us at the end of the cruise portion? I want to take some with me on our land portion. Can we purchase it onboard duty free and then disembark and take it with us on the Rail car portion?

I just booked the Ruby in February for this exact reason. Great price point and will do a locks excursion to get a close-up view. Going to enjoy the other ports as well. Have sailed the caribbean many times and these will be new ports for me. I looked at lots of cruises and Princess offers the best combination for me right now. Booked 3 cruises for 2024 to replace one European river cruise.

I have done that already, might last 2 days! I am thinking that some people have taken over this thread in the wrong way. I never meant or asked a question about the 15 drink limit daily, nor do I care what amount others consume. I simply wanted to know if I can take beer back to my own porch!

I have a room extremely close to the bar--I do not have the cheers package. I simply like to sit on my balcony and enjoy a beer or two with my husband. We spend plenty of time with others on the ship in different venues.

I see where my cruise is almost sold out. I do not want to spend a lot of time waiting to be served a drink on this vacation. Would it make sense to get a "bulk" purchase then head back to my own balcony?

Why are so many Panama cruises being cancelled or changed? Is it because of the drought?

Yes, I purchased Premium seats on my return flight on Virgin Atlantic coming from London to the US, they charged me an additional $971 for each seat which I thought was outrageous for a few extra inches, but at least it was slightly better than the extra economy bulkhead seat on the flight to London.

Thank you all for your great suggestions. I will look into them in the future. In the meantime, I have changed rearranged all of my travel plans for at least the next year. We are going to stay in the US and drive for now. My big plans for Budapest and Prague have been replaced with Yellowstone and Jackson with extended family and friends, so I am happy about that. Oh, yes, I finally had my appointment for Global entry LOL!

We will be on a Breeze cruise to the Carribean soon. We have a shore excursion taking us to a rum tasting with the opportunity to purchase some for ourselves. What happens when we bring them back to the ship?

Totally agree! We played and were appalled at the payouts. Each person won 50cents. We actually won a "free" Bingo card which ended up costing us $23 more and the last Bingo day was a farce, they only pay out the $5,000 if someone wins on the first 29 numbers. After that it is regular bingo.

We brought most of our liquor onboard in Europe because we splurged on a suite and did not want to spend a lot of time at the bars. Wow! best cruise ever! Of course the scenery in Norway was the star, but having our own bar in our room was perfection!

Can you bring more than 2 bottles of wine on board if you pay a corkage fee?

I know I will probably get a lot of unsolicited rude remarks for this subject, but I really want to know if I am in the minority. I just returned from my first international trip. The cruise was marvelous. The flights "not so much". We encountered many obstacles including; late flights, re-timed flights, overbooked flights and cramped flights. The worst part by far, was the cramped quarters, even after paying extra for bulkhead and exit row seating. We "rolled with the other changes, but the lack of personal space left me in shock. I disliked it so much that I have cancelled my next 2 trips which involve long flights. I am seriously reconsidering my future travel plans, trying to look at places where I can drive to instead. Please don't rub it in that you can afford business or first class--that is not possible for me. We had to pay a king's ransom in order to upgrade to something called "economy delight" on Virgin Atlantic in order to get 3 additional inches of leg space on our return flight. (Almost $1800 for 2 seats). It was NOT worth it.
