  1. I don't know where you got the $63 from? The balcony bid was for 2 x the $945 in addition to what she had already paid for her room, soooo quite a bit more than she thought she was paying. She is very new to this.
  2. Unfortunately, No, only 1 bid per cabin type permitted.
  3. We are a group of 4 arriving in Nawiliwili at 8am and departing at 5pm. I have rented a car and plan to be on the road by 9:30 to drive to Waimea Canyon and Kokee state park/ then return back to port. Does this sound doable?
  4. Sure. The bids were : Minimum bid for balcony was $550 pp , but she is not cruise critic savy and had a few cocktails before she did this. I'm not sure about the minimum for OV, but she bid $200 pp. She bis $115 pp for Obs. OV. I bid $70 pp for Obs OV. Our trip was within a week of departure--so no hurry. Be aware they can place you anywhere. Oh yeah, Our trip is 15 days. My personal preference would be to wait to bid, as it is not in your favor when many rooms are available early on.
  5. Be aware. My sister and I had inside rooms next to each other on the Crown. I bid $15 over minumum for Obstructed OV and was accepted. She bid $60 over minimum for obstructed OV and $200 for unobstucted OV and $945 for Balcony. The only winning bid was for the Balcony. Needless to say--she declined! Do not place multiple bids all at once!
  6. This is my question also. If I do not accept the offer, will I still have my original cabin? Princess contract states they can change location at any time---sooo, there is a risk involved, right? Anyone else have their cabin changed after refusing a bid?.
  7. Does anyone have recent experience with this? We have 4 people with luggage going from LAX to Crown Plaza in San Pedro on a Sunday afternoon.
  8. I made reservations for afternoon after visiting Pearl Harbor/ Can you tell me if dress is more casual for afternoons?
  9. I am now looking at alternatives. I will lose 2 deposits, so I do not take this lightly, however, in the larger scheme, I am not willing to place this "much anticipated trip" in peril. I think it is prudent to begin to look elsewhere. I had to have my vacation time approved a year in advance for this journey. If Carnival would issue a positive response, It would help tremendously, but that is not what I am seeing.
  10. Wow! This really makes me nervous, as we have B2B scheduled for June. Will be watching. Thank you for posting. Fingers crossed.
  11. We have the same situation. Doesn't interest me at $550 pp minimum bid for a balcony. I'm fine where I am, but would consider a less expensive upgrade.
  12. Can anyone tell me what their spa experience was like on the Crown? I am referring to the pass which you purchase. I did this on HAL Koningsdam and it was relaxing and well worth the price. Just trying to compare services. Thank you.
  13. I am curious as to which Vista Suite you were in. I booked one for next June and hope it is not yours!
  14. Thank you so much! Very useful in formation!
  15. This is great information! I am going to sail on her next summer to Europe. My first time on Carnival. Any advice on what to pack for Norway in June?
  16. I have the far aft inside cabin near the aft pool also, it is my favorite place.
  17. My favorite is inside/Balcony aft. I Just love this location, but I hardly ever use the balcony, so it seems like a waste for me. I'd rather spend the extra on board having fun. I was trying to decide if an OV would give me more space than an inside.
  18. Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between Oceanview and Inside cabins other than a window? Are they both the same size? I am trying to book a cabin, but do not necessarily want to pay for a balcony, since I rarely use it. I would like to hear from people who have actually stayed in both. I have had Balcony, Mini-Suite and inside cabins, but never an OV. Thank you for your help.
  19. We are doing the same cruise next June. How much cold weather gear did you use?
  20. Can I use my prepaid gift cards for the casino?
  21. Thanks to everyone for answering my question. Looking forward to this cruise.
  22. This is my first Carnival cruise. Besides the buffet, is there a sit-down breakfast and lunch offered in the MDR? I am not a big fan of buffets, although I most probably will do the buffet for convenience sake a few times. I was really turned off on my last cruise after watching people touch things without using the hand washing station beforehand. All of us got covid on that cruise this past summer. I had not had covid before despite being a first responder and taking direct care of very ill people. I do not wish to hear about covid from anyone, just want to know if choices are available. Thanks to those of you who answer respectfully.
