  1. Eh.. I admit, we became more loyal to Royal after reaching D, however we can compare prices and calculate. We don’t pay so much. Also Royal provides so many quality choices from ports where we live … it also goes into equation.
  2. This seems like slow. I usually get much better speed. More than enough for browsing, watching YouTube etc. Whether it is worth $27 per day… well… I pay $50 per months for cable internet with 450… If you buy multiple days price is cheaper. Before cruise for 11-12 dayer it’s aeoynd $17.99
  3. Tons of deals. We book year or even 2 ahead and prices are not really higher than what we had before. When majority is sold out RCI sees that cruise is popular and tries to sell at higher price. If it cannot prices will be changed to lower.
  4. Of course. It is demand that drives prices. For example once a year we sail out of Baltimore on Vision class. In inside (we do not spend much time in our cabin). We could sail for this price with balcony on newer ship, but we like itinerary (12 days South Caribbean) and the fact that we can drive there. Many people live around Baltimore and do not want to fly.
  5. What music from Boston? We sail on Anthem once a year from 2016 - 2019 and 2 times a year 2021 - 2024 All bands in Music Hall play international hits.
  6. Cruises are basically sold out ... so remaining cabins have such prices. If they are not sold closer to cruises price will go down. Royal is masterfully getting money lost during 2020 - 2022 (last quarter) back.
  7. We have 4 more cruises booked for this year. Vision - 12 days in March Symphony - 7 days in May Liberty - end of August to Canada - 9 days Odyssey for Thanksgiving - 7 days 2 booked for next year Odyssey in Jan - 11 days to Southern Caribneans Vision in March 12 days. All prices are sane.
  8. We are still getting good prices by booking early... But the fact that RCI can keep prices up means someone is paying it. If not they will be lowered closer to sailings.
  9. I watch YouTube video so I think I have pretty good idea about new ships. It did not make me want to try. By the way I did not sail on real old ships of Carnival. My tries were on 2 months old Liberty, not old Miracle and not old Glory. I just do not like the vibe. Of course it is just me.
  10. Maybe... I personally do not like Carnival (honestly tried 3 times) , so for me it does not matter. Also people have own preferences ... like smaller ships with better itinerary. Better product is highly subjective. We will see.
  11. Enchantment is a smaller ship with a limited number of balconies. It is supply vs demand. Balconies on Anthem cost less
  12. I do not understand why Odyssey is created the way it created. For sailings from Northeast it is too open. For Florida sailings it is too inclosed. I wish it was built the same way as Anthem. Ok... maybe with Playmakers in Seaplex. We will sail on her from NJ during next winter.. but I see issues.
  13. If you are on cruise when checking in I recommend using website to do so, as application won’t allow it. It will give some silly message like “Check in has checked out” or something. Happened to us several times.
  14. We had Billboard Cancun Band in 2022-2023 and Icon Band in 2023-2024 on Anthem… mostly in Music Hall and on one occasion in Bolleros and 270. Loved both of them
  15. We have a nice great state campgrounds Cape Cod: both are not far from the ocean https://www.mass.gov/locations/shawme-crowell-state-forest https://www.mass.gov/locations/nickerson-state-park Right on the ocean https://www.mass.gov/locations/horseneck-beach-state-reservation https://www.mass.gov/locations/salisbury-beach-state-reservation Reservations need to be done via https://www.reserveamerica.com/ prior arrival
  16. Can you explain why do you need to get there ASAP? What are you expecting?
  17. I have not seen any less risk to get sick on smaller ships than on larger. Season matters.... Winters are bad on any size ships... then it subsides although last March was bad in terms of Noro on Enchantment.
  18. Agree. Our OLDEST cruise was cruise on Brilliance New England/Canada at the end of September 2013. We at early 40-s felt like grand kids. 🙂
  19. It is not economical... Royal will build smaller ships to go under some bridges.. but I do not see ships specifically for adults. For that there is Celebrity.
  20. Nope…cruise critic attaches it this way 🙂
  21. From our last cruise btw… Embarkation in Bayonne, NJ.
  22. We are also empty nesters… but I remember times when ships were already large, but not enough to do for kids… so kids were right were adults were. Even though I don’t need theme park, they attract kids and we can have a quiet time. 🙂
  23. Each has own advantages. Quantum class for colder sailings (not sure Quantum+ will work). The best Solarium! Oasis class has unusual things like water shows, Central park etc Everything under has Viking Crown lounge which we miss on larger ships greatly Vision class has everything really close... tons of music at centrum, ocean views
  24. Of course, but from US they are, so RCI will need to look for some other places to cater to addicts. 😉
