  1. Yes, we are on the October 4th cruise. Just hope that the inside cabin will work for us.
  2. That has consistently been an issue when I have a balcony on Carnival!! Can’t enjoy the balcony!
  3. To many cruisers, $600 is a make or break amount of money! Multiply by 2 or 3 passengers, that gets to be a huge difference!!
  4. The room stewards have a job to do in a limited amount of time, having hundreds of people, if all follow your rules, “just” dropping off luggage would hinder the stewards from performing their duties. IMO..
  5. For our December cruise , says “all bookings have already been bought”.
  6. I recently purchased Cruise Cash with an AARP Carnival gift card, applied to my sign and sail. I believe it is non refundable if not used.
  7. Just did a fake booking, surprise, surprise, the final price is the same as last week, without the 2nd passenger free!!
  8. Carnival owes like 36 BILLION dollars in debt, so yeah, worse than others!
  9. We are on the Meraviglia in January for 2 nights, YC inside, to learn the lay of the land to prepare for 11 nighter in October. And to see if we can survive the inside for 11 days. Might have to give this a try. Oh yeah, Go Dawgs!!
  10. No reason to be nervous, there are plenty of YouTube reviews on this cruise ship to help you decide. Just remember that the ship is 30+ years old, does not have all the bells and whistles that you may be accustomed to.
  11. There is a technique that some bars use to ignite a small amount of wood to create smoke, that permeates the mixed drink. The only ones I’ve seen have been bourbon based cocktails.
  12. Haven’t been on the ship since rename, but in the past, embarkation started about 12:00. Rooms ready somewhere around 2:00. Parking is valet only, $22/ day. If you cruise on Friday or Saturday, the line to park can get long. Make sure you paper work is complete before getting to check-in, makes it smoother. Check-in is similar to checking in to hotel vs other cruise lines. Afterwards, you go to area that takes photos, make restaurant reservations, excursions, etc. There is a small waiting area. Since you normally go RCL or Celebrity, turn your expectations down a few notches, as this is an old, small ship, but we enjoy the cruise. There are a lot of YouTube videos available. Enjoy!!
  13. I have been on 4 MSC cruises and the staff has never refused to accept a monetary tip.
  14. Food in the Classica MDR was a weak point, so maybe they upgraded the menu and quality.
  15. The astroturf and arcade machines were on the Classica. We’ve been on Classica 4 times, and have never seen anyone play the games, most of the time out of service. That area was not really used, but looks like it may be used on Margaritaville. We have not been on Margaritaville, but a friend just took it, and said she had a great time and would do it again. (Although that’s not a review)
  16. 6 in one cabin, that’s not I would call a vacation!!
  17. Which cruise, we are on September 5th depart from Southampton.
  18. Based on the B and M, I’d gladly stay in a balcony cabin by myself! Lord help having to use an elevator!
