Hi!! Yes he is on his third contract. (He did MDQ on land as well. He was in Phoenix for 2 months) He and the new cast boarded last week. 6 months on 6 months off. He says this cast is fabulous! Everyone is in for a real treat! Extremely talented musicians, singers and actors.
When did you cruise last? We went on the Baltic cruise in September 2017.
So glad he is still on, saw him in the Baltics in August, taking the whole family onboard this August. Can't wait for them to see the show!

Thanks again 300....we will probably do this...do they take a credit card?
Don't think so, I believe it was cash only.

Oh 300, that is very good to know...we were thinking about how we would get to the airport, do we need to reserve a place on the bus?
No, after we got our luggage there were lines for taxis and one for NCL transfer service but there was a guy who said anyone needs a bus to airport or central train station go out this door...there were big busses parked there and we paid a person, they loaded the suitcases and when we were full, off we went. We did stop at the train station first, but we had a late flight so time didn't really matter. Hope you enjoy your trip:)

Thanks again 300...yes, that was my intention, to go to port on the HOHO bus....do you recall what it cost by taxi?
I want to say it was a fixed price but I could be wrong, it's about a 20 minute trip, our hotel called the cab and we paid by credit card...around $35 I think including the tip...someone else may remember more detail.
After your cruise if you are going to the airport or staying in town, there were busses outside that would take you back to town or to the airport for $15 pp

Thanks 300....I think we will definitely do this, do you know if it goes to the cruise port?
It does go to the port, on days that there is a ship there, we only purchased a two day ticket, so day three we took a taxi to the port. If I recall there really wasn't anyplace to put luggage on the hoho bus if that was your intention. There are busses that will get you to the port, but I'm pretty certain you have to transfer to get there and I didn't want to deal with that.

We did the hop on hop off in Copenhagen for two days and loved it! Our hotel was very near the central train station and we were able to catch the bus very near to us for all of the routes. Don't miss Tivoli amusement park !

I believe the hallway to the library was to the right of the giant screen in the atrium, I didn't go down there for days, thought it was just conference rooms!

Hey, 300dtc, did you need coin or bills for the toilets in Berlin?
Needed coins I think it was 50 cent euro for most places. Of course if you eat at a restaurant or grab a beer in a bar you can use their facilities.
-
Berlin has all pay toilets everywhere, so definitely needed Euros there!

I just saw various photos and videos from this Sun cruise, and I believe the passengers on this trip deserve immediate compensation. Not a future cruise credit.
This was not just routine maintenance with areas affected for short periods of time. The Sun is a small ship and the loud noise, dust, and fumes from all the work were probably very difficult to get away from. Does any one know how many days this was going on?
When I first started reading this thread I thought a few people were over reacting to their experience on the ship, but I changed my mind after watching the videos and seeing the photos.
The work continued for the entire 16 day cruise...the acetone smell came and went, never constant in our area, the noise on the pool deck was probably more than half the days, but was unusable for the entire cruise. The construction noise from las ramblas was the entire cruise.

We were told they are gutting the ship. All new furniture in state rooms, was told the observation lounge is also going.

Does anyone have experience with taking an uber from the port to the airport? I read that the cost was around $40, but interested in availability. Ty

Disembarkation was a circus to be honest. Being Canadian probably didn't help once we got off the ship. USA residents were told to line up on the right side (outside of the cruise terminal just off the ship) and all non residents were to line up on the left. Our line moved slower than Molasses in January.
After being in the line for almost 45 min. of mostly standing, then moving 5-7 steps only to wait some more was not pleasant. Then someone from the Port told those who are Canadian residents, that were well behind us and had only been there briefly, to jump the rope barrier and go where the US residents line was. Well because that line was empty you can imagine the uproar from those of us who had been waiting longer ! When asked why not those of us who were here longer, she shrugged her shoulders and kept walking........ we all loved her so much for that .
Once inside, it was a breeze, our shuttle did not leave until 9:45. Arrived at LAX about 30 mins. later, so you should have no problem catching a 1 PM flight at all. Our flight was for 1:13 scheduled that is lol. Was delayed for 1 hour, but we made it home 10 mins sooner than we were actually scheduled for ! Jet stream was very strong, so we made up the time and then some, 4 hours 6 min to Toronto ! Not Bad at all.
If I may suggest, if you can, do a self disembarkation. These started @ 7:30 am and the "coloured tags" started about 8:30 ish.
Thanks Umpy!

We once spent 3.5 hours trying to get to the port the day there was a shooting on the highway...by the time we got to the port, the porters were gone and we and the other people on our shuttle were the last ones through. It is not a good feeling at all!

Thank you for the review! We leave in 12 days for same cruise, but on the Sun. How did your departure work for you? We were going to book the shuttle to the airport on the ship for LAX as well. Our flight is just after 1 pm. Did the timing all work out for you? What time did the shuttle leave and what time did you arrive at lax?

Sorry if this is an already asked and answered question...if we purchase $500 obc for our cruise can we then use it in the casino or withdraw it and use it to pay for private excursions? If we go to the casino cashier to get it from our card will they charge us the 3% fee? We are trying not to have to carry lots of cash onboard and I'm not sure if this will help the situation...thank you!

Getaway Review June 24-July 1 Four Ships in One

We usually cruise when school is in session, that makes for a quieter cruise as well. Also, if you book longer than 7 days the demographic is definitely more adults than children.
