  1. For us it's probably all of the above. We usually take a few extra days to vacation before our cruise and after fighting the beach traffic and paying the Fort Lauderdale prices (or whatever port we are leaving from) it's a wonderful relief to be on board where we don't have to drive and we already paid for everything months ago and can just relax...ahhhh...

  2. Sorry if this is asked and answered, but I'm getting conflicting information. Can you use gift cards to pre pay for the cheers program? I called Carnival today and was told yes, you can use them to pay prior to the cruise. But, I'm seeing in some posts that people say, no, you can't use the cards to pay for cheers program. Before I'm stuck with $600 of gift cards I'd like to know the facts of this..can anyone comment who has done this. Thank you...

  3. I haven't sailed on NCL so I can't compare. For me, the cheers program allows me to have top shelf drinks and not have to worry about how much it costs. I will pick the best wine available at dinner instead of "house" wine. If I am having a martini, I will request grey goose etc.... It's break even for me after about 5 drinks which I can easily do on a fun day at sea and probably would even do that on port days. Do they let you have top shelf on NCL with the included drink package? I am curious about that?

Yes, the unlimited beverage package includes any drink under $15.00, si I usually drink grey goose, or absolute vodka. It does not include water or energy drinks or specialty coffees though, but there is not a limit to number of drinks...not that I ever could drink 15 drinks in one day, but I'm sure my hubby can..beers anyway!

  4. We have only cruised on Carnival once, some years ago and I can't recall what we spent on drinks. We are used to NCL and the "included beverage package" in our most recent cruises. With all that being said, those of you who do buy the cheers package, do you feel that you paid a reasonable amount for what you got? We both like some fun pool drinks, maybe beer with lunch, wine with dinner, then usually drinks in shows or the casino....thank you [emoji41]

  5. We are staying in a picture window ocean view in November. Can anyone remember in the bathroom, is there a raised area to stop the water from going all over the floor? If not, can someone comment on how wet everything gets, for some reason when my DH takes a shower with the open floor plan it gets soaked! Thank you...

  6. We got the points for our cruise which ended on 3rd Sept within a couple of days.

Thank you, I just wanted to know if it was just a glitch to my account or throughout the system...I did send the message to latitudes and had no response yet. So, I'll give them another few days, then try to call again, I guess I was just excited to see our level go to gold!

  7. Has anyone else not been given their latitude reward points to their account this month? I know that the terrible problems from the hurricane probably interfered with a lot of regular things at headquarters, but we returned September 2 and I called 3 days ago and was told it's set as an automatic load 48 hours after your cruise. Well, it's now 13 days after and nothing...just checking to see if it's pervasive across the system. Thank you...

  8. We started in 2013, and were hooked! Just got back from 9 day Baltic cruise and can't wait to leave again on November 5 th to the Caribbean. But our longest cruise is coming up in March, 16 days full circuit Panama Canal! The anticipation is one of the best parts...just love pulling up to the ship on embarkation day, with all that fun ahead of you!

  9. OP, sorry you had a disappointing experience on Getaway in the Baltic. I was booked on the same itinerary and ended up sailing on P&O, the British version of Princess. With a glass enclosed pool and less than half the passengers, everything was easier. Yes, I had to wear a tux four times during the cruise, but it was worth it.

Two things: when will NCL add enclosed pools in their ship design? I will never sail NCL in cold weather ever again. And I bet you five cents that Leonardo class will be used for this itinerary in the future.

Sounds like a better experience, we have a short trip bookef on carnival, just because it goes to Turks and caicos. Ncl gets another chance on the sun for the panama canal
