  1. I just bring my own sweetener (Equal) no matter what. It doesn’t take up much room in the suitcase! Silversea used to have many more choices of sweeteners, but no more.
  2. Thanks turtle. I will keep trying to get a more reasonable itinerary. If not, we will cancel the cruise or we will try and get flights on our own.
  3. No clue but it's still not acceptable when one can fly to JFK and then on to Iceland.
  4. Just checked my Silversea and the newest reservations have us flying from MIA to Germany and then to Iceland. Why???
  5. No word as of yet. This will be a deal breaker for us.
  6. Just to clarify, we have had Silversky or whatever their moniker is at the moment, book flights for us that were fine. The most recent two cruises have been more of a challenge apparently and they weren’t able to offer us air reservations. Not the case for this cruise, but then look what they booked for us. Maybe it’s just time to avoid them altogether!
  7. I am waiting to hear if Silversea will do anything about this partial circumnavigation by air. I hope they don't try to charge us a deviation fee!!! Because these flight arrangements are the most deviated or “deviant” by far.
  8. I feel terribly taken advantage of by this air booking for which we upgraded by a lot.
  9. ACE system, bulltwistle. Just got my flights for a cruise from Iceland to Lisbon. Silversea has us flying from Miami to Seattle, a four hour layover and then Seattle to Iceland. How can this be an ACE? ABSURD
  10. I forgot, VIP’s also get swag, the backpack and the tote. All on expedition cruises get backpack.
  11. In the past, one would get a bag if in a silver suite or higher. It’s not a beach bag. Usually a white bag, which resembles a Le Pliage, and a backpack. I believe this is current info but don’t hold me to it! Maybe someone aboard can confirm.
  12. Used to be swag like hats and backpack, tote. Complimentary canapés
  13. Just a thought or two. Surely Silversea has business interruption insurance? The question is if war or terrorism is covered in their policy and the amount of coverage. Wouldn’t that factor into their decision making and risk/benefit analysis at some point? However at some point too, the huge open and obvious danger to passengers and crew and vessel must tip the scales. Wonder if the insurance helps with reimbursement by the cruise line to the pocket of the pax.
  14. No more silver box or laminated luggage tags since Covid. Not sure if or when that will return.
  15. Living the dream through you Sir Wavey. Please don't stop.
  16. IMO, dangerous, very dangerous to sail thru the Red Sea at the moment.
  17. Who knew!!! Great stories we have to tell! Thanks for sharing!
  18. A bit of late night exercise before sleep. With that view I would have trouble sleeping though.
