  1. Table settings in Atlantide. No flowers.
  2. Sea day 2. Somewhere between Barbados and here, we lost an hour. We will lose another hour tonight. I am keeping track because I hope to retrieve them at some point. The loss of the hour is ok for the guests but not ok for the crew. The weather continues to cooperate. Windy but sunny. The pool is totally packed again. Lots of activities to participate in should one desire, including making a bracelet. Really? Dinner last night in La T. Dress code was informal, most of the gentlemen were in jackets, with some t-shirts and polo shirts. The attire of the women was mixed, from sparkly to wrinkled peasant dress. The food was again mediocre to poor. The service was excellent. Too bad it could not help the food. The tray of antipasti is still presented with great flair, as is the bread basket, I think this carries the meal. At the very least, it makes a good first impression. The sparkling wine is no longer offered. One cannot help noticing some big and small changes. Touches that made the line seem special, for example, no flowers on the tables. Lunch today in Atlantide. Barely any takers as the majority of the pax were at the pool and La T. I can confirm that this menu must have been in the same dryer as the menu from La T and it shrunk too. The food was a step up from la T. The small white vases which had flowers in them were missing from the table settings. Service was attentive and efficient. Formal night tonight.
  3. Thanks for the good wishes all. Today, sea day 1, is picture perfect weather. Sun worshippers are getting toasted. Others also getting toasted, but in a different way. Lots of activities for others, cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, dance lessons, painting class, origami, lectures, a Caribbean buffet lunch at the pool deck with some very listenable live music, bridge lessons, table tennis tournaments, language classes, roulette tournament, a book conversation club, trivia, etc. I recognize the faces of many pax from prior crossings. Crossings do attract repeat pax who just love the sea days. The majority of the crew are new. We dined in la T last night. I can confirm the menu must have gone thru a dryer on high cycle, because it has shrunk.
  4. Reporting live from the very packed to the gunwales Dawn. Yesterday in Barbados the boarding process was a bit chaotic and a lot sweaty. The Dawn is completely full.
  5. What the future portends ???? The essential fare does not include the so called “upper suites” either. Love the word combinbale. Maybe it is time to bail.
  6. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
  7. Certainly a beautiful day in Port Everglades to begin a journey home or to begin one aboard. Safe travels all.
  8. This is hit or miss. No bubble bath packet, but sometimes a bath salt packet or tablet. You can certainly ask your butler or suite attendant. These amenities more likely to show up in the silver suites and above, however in these penny pinching/cost cutting days of silversea, who knows what you will see. there used to be a loofah type scrubber, and also a shower pouf to use with the shower gel/body wash. Haven’t seen those in awhile.
  9. Or a white bag, that looks like a longchamp de pliage, but is not of that quality. Inside a ball cap, facial spray (like Evian water) and plastic bottle of commercial and water sanitizer wipes. If you a traveling with a male companion, they will get a backpack with same contents. Are you on an expedition, because then it is different.
  10. Honestly in this class all suites are pretty much the same. Just higher up, which may mean more bounce. All the verandahs are great.
  11. You need to figure out your direction, i.e., which way you are sailing for sun exposure. For example on a crossing, you would get sun in the morning on the port side, with afternoon sun on the starboard side. I love deck 5. Close to the water! And pretty stable. But i would chose something midship. Too close to the bow and it may get a bit bumpy!
  12. Clearly Royal sees pax as disposable and pawns.
  13. OMG Mr Silver! I had heard Paolo was aboard trying to sort things out for the Spirit. She was the first vessel we sailed on, many years ago and prestretch. We have a place in our hearts for her. I am sorry to learn of the issues you are experiencing. Is Paolo aboard? IMO he’s probably one of the few who can work miracles, all other things being equal. After our last Cloud voyage we thought we would not cruise Silversea again. Now we have signed up for the Dawn crossing. Fingers and toes crossed.
  14. I never saw any to borrow. I was on the Cloud in late September 2023. We brought our own.
  15. An awful set of flights. Silversea also did the same for our cruise in September. Miami to Seattle to Iceland. or Miami to Germany to Iceland, we are still waiting for another alternative!
  16. I think that “banana” looking thing is a crescent moon shape of polenta.
  17. Glad you are aboard Terry. Enjoy every minute. Nice to see the crew!
  18. NOPE. Thee is no way to compare MSC with Silversea. Even in the MSC Yacht Club, unless you never leave the Yacht Club. Only been on Celebrity once for a brief cruise. The crowds, yikes! You only live once, make it the best it can be. As we all have experienced in the past several years, unexpected stuff happens and life gets put on hold. Enjoy yours. Silversea will help!
  19. I haven’t read the reviews section. Now i will try. I also didn’t realize there is a live reports section for many cruises. YIKES!
  20. IMO deck 5 midship is a lovely location. Close to the water and stable with great view. The higher and more forward you go, the more you will feel the movement.
