I may have missed this but is that huge board with the antipasti presented at the beginning of dinner in LaT? We requested that it not be brought since we could not do justice to it and then have anything else. The current menu is beyond abbreviated when compared to the prior one.

Was waiting to hear from you about your experience. I hope this gets fixed ASAP, but I have my doubts. One cannot report about a negative aspect without a counter, but that's what makes the world go round. At least one may express views here that aren't only positive.

REVIEW of Silver Nova, 11/7/23-11/18/23, Lisbon to New York

I don't appreciate the line on the ceiling either. Is that akin to dropping breadcrumbs in the forest? If you look up you know where you are… -

For someone who has a cane that would be near to impassable and impossible. What if someone has a drink or two on the table? Are there dedicated handicapped seats? Does the jogging path go thru the restaurant? Egads -

Yikes, try guest relations and the hotel manager. Also report to your butler and ask him or her to escalate it. -

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Your review was comprehensive, with much “food for thought”. -

Just for clarification, we have heard nothing from Silversea regarding our experience in suite 726 since disembarkation. We received nothing from them during the cruise but we did get an acknowledgement letter mid cruise saying they were “sorry” and that they were trying to fix the issue. It never was fixed. And yes, in the main, we have enjoyed our cruises with Silversea. The crew are stellar. We’ve met some lovely people aboard. The first segment of this cruise was an expedition cruise, the second half definitely was not. This doesn’t have an impact on us, we knew what the itinerary was and we chose the voyage for the opportunity to see Iceland and Greenland. There were lots of weather issues, these don't bother us, we enjoy varied weather at sea! The vessel was the destination for us.

Don’t forget the sweet wines of Samos, lovely. -
I think a cruise designer should try out that closet too. And that tabletop storage space in the closet. It invites snags of delicate fabrics.

I bring my own soap as well but i really detest the pump things for shampoo or conditioner or body wash. I guess the refillable pumps save on plastic and pax filling their suitcases with fragranced soaps, etc.
-
Is there a bar of soap or just those pump things?

Yikes again as to the closet with the tabletop in a bad location. Being height challenged i could not use the top hanging area, but fortunately dr spins could reach it easily. I agree with JJ, having to peer through all stuff hanging in that cubbie (like in kindergarten) is not ideal. Wow to the laundry room! Very industrial. Thanks for reporting.

A month and some days later… We cancelled our upcoming expedition cruise. We are still feeling quite bruised by our experience on the Cloud, specifically as to the sewage odors which could not be fixed. Many did try to fix it, or at least made it look as if they were trying to fix the problem. The engineer who told us that it could never be fixed was the most honest of the lot. While those in charge gave lip service to the issue, acknowledging it with the polite “I’m so sorry”, and “the crew is trying to fix it”, as soon as we were off the ship they washed their hands of us. Approaching 500 days and years of cruising with Silversea, we feel trod upon. Will we ever cruise with Silversea again?

Happy travels all!

We have some hefty wildlife here too on the peninsula, but not for long, these pythons are devouring everything.

While Thera has become a touristic trap of grand proportions, I too enjoy the view from the ship. The whitewashed buildings looking like some type of lattice frosting, perched atop centuries of cake layers of history. The volcanic rock formations, some appear to be funnels rising from the sea, the different colors of the rocks are a petrologists delight. Never mind the tsunamigenic properties of Thera! And of course knowing that the vessel is not at anchor in the caldera, nor are any of the cruise ships, its too deep to anchor, the Captain must keep the engines running to stay in position.

Agree with JP. Buy boots, you can find some really nice ones on eBay too.

Color coordinated too!

Who authors this stuff? How does Silversea operate? “Akin”, “indoor spaces prohibit”, I could go on and on… Looking for a definition guide to the words and phrases.
