Congratulations on him kicking the habit. Years ago the joke was they listed the smokers who quit the habit every day in the newspaper in alphabetical order. It was the obituaries We bought our house in 1969. Our neighbors were chain smokers. We didn’t have AC and not too many had it. We would have our windows open in the summer and their smoke would pour out of their windows into our house. It looked like their house was on fire. They eventually ended up with oxygen tanks but still smoked and coughed. Both died before being 65. Today I can always tell a smoker when driving. They have their window cracked open. If they like the smoke that much why do they want it to escape? It isn’t an easy habit to quit. Everyone has a vice, caffeine , sugar, alcohol and etc. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I found that not being too demanding up front and not treating him as your own personal servant gets better results. I don’t know where people came up with the idea to give them a check list of what they want and expect. That is rude. I seen this on another thread where they did that and were irate because their demands weren’t granted. They said that the butler just took the paper and shoved it in his pocket without looking at it and never gave them anything that they requested On the first day they should try to contact you. Naturally if you aren’t in the cabin they wont be able to do that but don’t hang around for it as it may not happen. They are busy meeting with other guests. They will eventually meet you. When you do meet they usually will tell you what can they do for you. Just listen and be polite. Don’t start making demands. When they are done get to know them as a person and take interest in them, then politely ask if it is possible to maybe serve ( example americano in the morning). It will lead to good and better things. Trust me Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I doubt you will miss many shows by dining off of the ship because sail away from most ports is before 6 pm and if it sails later there is the late show that starts around 9 pm Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

In AQ it was unlimited. Then it was changed to 2 bottles per cruise don’t remember if it was 2 pp or per cabin. Now I guess it is 2 per day. With the drink package we always get a bottle on our way to the cabin. Not a big issue unless you don’t have a drink package and that may be the reason that the classic package is included in AQ Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Take your smart phone or Tablet with you. It usually involves a lot of waiting. They also want you to have your documents. You will be in a waiting area to get off of the ship. Then the long walk thru the terminal to another waiting area for the ship to be cleared. Last year when we did the B2B the suite guests were separate from the others and boarded first. Then the long walk thru the maze back. This was in Ft Lauderdale. There were over 250 doing B2B. You will also be given a code for 30 minutes of free internet time to do the on line survey. You can use the remaining minutes for your own choice but I don’t think you can save them for future use. Once you log in you have to use the minutes. Depending on the cruise they may offer a discount for the first night at a specialty restaurant that needs to be booked at the B2B meeting. You can use your next cruise OBC to pay for it. They will also give you a ticket for the embarkation lunch in the MDR. We didn’t use it as we were in a suite. Many will go to the buffet as it is empty and they will be the first there, but you will have to wait until they open the food stations. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Totally agree. I don’t know where the OP seen where it was. My frustration was when we were on the Equinox in Nov they didn’t have any Woodford and we had the premium package. They also have very few wines that were in the premium package that we had on other cruises. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

You get the amenities that come with the cabin. Perks are the same that you booked on the original booking. You don’t get any more OBC or the extra CC points. You will have to pay the difference in gratuities. If you have the all in that includes the Classic beverage package, low internet, and gratuities and move up to any category you will keep that. Those aren’t upgraded to the premium pack and high speed internet unless you move up to a Royal suite or higher as that is an amenity in those suites. Concierge is basically a lot of fluff. Many think that the embarkation lunch is fantastic. It isn’t worth paying a lot of extra for. The menu is very limited and service can be rather slow. We did it a few times as it is also part of doing a B2B. We had many more opportunities but chose not to attend. The in cabin snacks aren’t that great. We always sail in AQ or a suite and usually don’t bother with them or aren’t there when they are delivered. The cabins or balcony aren’t any larger. They are on the M class. I wouldn’t pay too much extra for it. You are also in no control of the cabin location. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I am sure that they do that because there isn’t the staff to keep up with it. Read some of the posts from passengers commenting about the slow drink service in the dining rooms. It is also a dining room and not a bar. Get your drink and go to the dining room if it is during HH. Easy and problem solved. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

You have to try them. They are there and you paid for it. If you don’t like it leave it. I was asking if they improved from previous experiences. Things do change. A different chef, different ingredients and etc but having been on over 30 cruises on Celebrity they have never been that great, also look at post #7. Did the pastries taste good? They always look fantastic but have no flavor. We would take samples sizes from many and after one bite leave them. Not worth the calories. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

During the main religious Holy Days Celebrity will try to have a Catholic priest on board. There is no guarantee. There has to have a priest that is available. There is a program for this service. http://www.aos-usa.org/store/pg/40-About-the-Cruise-Ship-Priest-Program-clone.aspxesr If they have a parish they usually prefer to be there during that time and not all priests what to go on a cruise during their vacation. We have an app called Mass Times or MassTimes.org. We use it all the time when traveling. It works in the Caribbean. Any time we are on an Island on a Sunday or Holy Day we attend Mass. It is always a very Nice experience to see so many attending, their enthusiasm, and how they celebrate Mass. On one cruise during Easter there was a priest on board and a Mass was scheduled at 4:30 pm on Sat for Palm Sunday in Celebrity Central. We got there around 4 and there was a very long line. We got in line and mentioned it looks like a SRO for Mass. The people we said this to said they weren’t in line for Mass it was for bingo in the theater. We laughed about it as the joke use to be you knew it was a Catholic Church by the bingo sign outside. We always make sure to write on a comment card and the survey how we appreciate having a priest on board Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

It may be that they really took the cut backs to the extreme and eliminated serving food to the guests because of all the complaints about it not being of good quality. 🤗 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸

Most bars are never crowded when not open for service, but m if not open it may be crowded for an event taking place. When there are open it depends on the passengers and what is scheduled there and the time. During shows and dinner many bars are empty. You will have to find out for yourself during your cruise. If you do find it don’t broadcast as it will becomes crowded. 🤗 as Yogi said “nobody goes there anymore because it is too crowded”. If you are Elite status there is the morning continental breakfast and it usually isn’t crowded. There is also the Mast Grill for burgers, hot dogs and etc for lunch and Cafe al Bacio for the sweet treats all day. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

There are many drinks you can get at all of the bars that are covered by the classic package. Many drinks that are unique at the Eden Bar aren’t covered by the premium pack and with that package you have to pay the difference. From experience and my taste I didn’t like any of the featured drinks in at Eden. We tried all of those covered by the package and a few with the upcharge. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

We were in a SS last Nov. I looked at my invoice on the TV in the cabin and there was a daily fee for the gratuities. I went to the host and ‘twas told that not all suites get all of the perks. I said that we did and she checked. She left a message on our phone that there was a mistake in the computer and they would be adjusted. It pays to check the invoice daily or every other day. It didn’t show up the first 3 days and then was added on. We checked daily after that. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Our second cruise was on HAL. That was 24 years ago. We had an outside cabin. One night we were on the top deck looking at the stars. There was no one around. We decided to relax, lay on a lounger by the rail to look at the stars, enjoy the quiet of the night and enjoy the sights of the sea in the distance for a few minutes instead of standing. We were there not more than 5 minutes and a couple comes and stands at the rail in front of us carrying on a conversation and smoking. There was nothing special about the place we chose. It was just an area we were in at the time. Apparently they thought we found something special. We weren’t planning on staying very long so we left. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I hear this all the time from acquaintances who have never sailed when they ask about taking a cruise or joining us on one and I tell them how much it is. They want that cruise that is for $40/day that includes the drink pack, SBC, internet, and etc. Urban legend Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

She claims to have traveled everywhere and complains about long walks to the elevator and rooms. Apparently she never been to Las Vegas and stayed at any of those large casino hotels. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Many of the entrees will be the same on the 6 and 8 day. For the 8 they will add 2 different instead of repeating the first 2. On the Equinox being in a suite you can dine at the other restaurants or order off of those menus when dining in Luminae. One of the few ships that still allows it. That was our experience in Nov 2022. Problem was most times when we wanted to order something the server would discourage it by suggesting to order from the Luminae menu saying that the food was better. We did order appetizers from the others and my wife ordered 2 from Blu and 1 from the MDR Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
