  1. The Reflection was the last in the S class. It is one of our favorite ships. We normally sail in AQ and the Persian Gardens is the best. Everything else on the ship is basically expanded. The Sunset bar and the World Class bar are nicer. The gym area has more. The only negative is the Sky Lounge. It was made smaller for more suites. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  2. Don’t miss getting on board before the ship sails. I would suggest not being so obsessed with all of the planning. Just go with the flow and enjoy the ship and cruise. Rarely does anything go as planned and why would you want to be on a schedule? If we are having a great time some where we will stay and enjoy it. Improvise and adapt. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  3. I agree with everyone else about the loyalty programs. It isn’t worth chasing after the status. We got burned too many times by the perks being changed, the qualifications and etc. The people that benefit the most are those that got to the top tier first or those that joined at the start. We have a credit card that refunds cash. Give me the money. I don’t want points. We joined a few mug and wine clubs. Some were for life. Thru the years the perks changed or were eliminated. One was at a brew pub that got new owners and it is no longer honored Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  4. We did the Mixology and Music on the Beyond. It was ok. There was a Flair BT. He made a Spiked Pimm, a Manhattan served in a martini glass and a Mai Tai in a flute. None were worth drinking as we had the premium drink pack and could have better drinks. It lasted about 1/2 hour. It started at 5 pm and ended at around 5:30. We left after all the drinks were served. There was no reason to hang around. The Manhattan was made with Makers. To me it was a waste of a decent bourbon. it is ok if you don’t have a drink pack and want free drinks. You can see from the photo what we left Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  5. Yes it was one of those that is on a slant 6132. The cabin is also a little bit larger. We had to move to another SS doing a B2B and noticed the difference in the depth of the cabin. It was about 2 feet. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  6. It is there because it was originally in the cabin but most passengers will put it on the balcony so it doesn’t take up any valuable surfaces that Kelly left. There is usually another piece of useless coral decoration that most hide under the bed or somewhere else. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  7. We were on the Summit in a SS that was also destroyed by Kelly. The redesign sucks. There is no storage, the drawers are very shallow and all of the shelves that were in the bathroom were removed. Magnets don’t stick to the walls. The only thing metal is those metal shadow boxes next to the mirror. That is where the do not disturb magnet is stored because it won’t stick to the inside of the exit door. The chair doesn’t fit under the desk . There is no full length mirror that the ladies miss. Photo on left is our balcony furniture. The one on the right shows the depth of all of the drawers. Shame on the person that approved the final design. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  8. It is like everything. A big deal and fuss is made for those that are first and then it becomes old and not news worthy. The first soldiers coming home from the WW1 and WW2 had big parades. Those that returned later were no longer welcomed. They couldn’t even get their jobs back. The first astronauts that landed on the moon were heroes. A few years later they were still making trips to the moon but the public lost interest and very few cared. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  9. In our cabin on the Beyond there was a book with all of the artwork on board. I don’t know if it was for the taking but we left it. A friend of mine has a BMW Isetta. I seen this picture on the Edge so I took it for him. Then there were these on the Apex and Beyond Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  10. Reading about Cornish Hen and Guinea Hen reminds me of what my cousin told us many years ago He graduated from the Naval Academy and said on his first cruise they were a lot of seagulls and other birds following the ship. For some reason they disappeared after the night they were served chicken. 😱🤗 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  11. Jim. Your comments about the food in Luminae is spot on. I am glad to hear that someone else, especially from someone that has sailed many times and appreciates quality instead of quantity, has the same opinion as we do. The menu isn’t that appealing and the food is hit or miss. We did a B2B on the Beyond and had some of the same entrees on each cruise. Totally different. The lunch lobster roll was completely different. The first cruise it was decent the other was lawn weeds on a roll with a hint of lobster. I swear that the meat was from one leg of an illegal size lobster. Love reading your thread, thanks for taking the time Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  12. Many say once you do a suite it is hard to go back. NOT TRUE for us. We have been in suites and went back to a veranda. Dined in the MDR for breakfast, lunch when available and dinner. Food was just as good if not better. The last time in a suite we ordered off of the MDR or Blu menu most nights as the menu for Luminae didn’t have anything appealing. I think it is mostly perceived value, if you pay more it has to be better. The extra cabin space is nice but a veranda on the slant gives a larger balcony. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  13. I had a professor that told us about a student that wrote an excellent paper on the given subject. He returned the paper with a F for the student and A+ for the author. There was also a note to reread the article and the name of the author. The professor was the author. His intention of telling this was to always look at the author, publisher, date and etc. Just because it it in print doesn’t make it true. You have to consider the source, when it was published and etc. and also not to copy the instructor’s paper. 😱 Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  14. A sample of price per night pp from a well known site for the cheapest suite in the Caribbean on Celebrity . Happy crusing 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  15. Equinox in Oct and Beyond in March. Nothing. We had the drink pack so it didn’t matter and normally we would take a sip and set it down. Wasn’t that good and didn’t need to juggle a glass and our carry on. Needed a free hand Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  16. It has been seen on many cruises. It is nothing new. It is floating out on the ocean and looks like a brown yellow green glob. In the 50s my parents would rent a cottage in Stoney Point Canada on Lake Saint Claire. The beach would get loaded up with sea weed whenever there was a storm. It was so thick you couldn’t walk thru it. All you could do was use rakes and pull it onto the shore so you could swim in the lake. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  17. I always ask for it to be made with bourbon. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  18. View of the back of the ship. The balcony at the top is deck 12. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  19. Blu isn’t really healthy dining. It was described to me as clean cuisine. They serve a lot of things that aren’t considered to be healthy for you. There are many choices of food available. . The buffet has a lot of choices. There is a salad bar. That can be a healthy option but it depends on what you put in the salad. Bacon chips, processed cheese, salad dressing and etc. Is a Caesar salad better than the tuna salad or chicken salad and a smoothie from the Spa Cafe? There is a made to order stir fry station in the buffet. Is eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, hash browns, biscuits and gravy healthier than muesli, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, cream cheese and a bagel? It is all available for breakfast in the buffet. A slice of pizza with a beer to go with the salad? It is up to you to decide what you think works for you. Have you ever gone into a restaurant and looked at the calorie count of what you would choose over something that you thought was high calorie and surprised that it wasn’t? Many things that we would think is better isn’t. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  20. That is why I always carry these. They are great for almost any bottle of, soda , or wine Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  21. Same. Put in a few extra staples and then wrap with clear packing tape. They are very hard to rip off. I think they are more secure than those that I use to get from the cruise line. When doing it I also think of how many it would take for Monk to get one perfect. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  22. I think this is another result of people writing about the loophole here on CC that only one should upgrade to premium and then switch drinks if one wanted a premium drink. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  23. If you choose the all included option with with Celebrity you get internet, gratuities and the classic drink pack. I looked at NCL and a comparable cruise and cabin with Celebrity and I it looks as if Celebrity is an option. They are very close in cost. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
  24. Deal or No Deal is more entertaining than Bingo. It also gives everyone a chance to win something instead of 1 person. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
