  1. And on our March/April Quest cruises with the branded wines, mostly reds, 1 was terrible, one was mostly bad, two were tolerable. I gave the Hotel Director comments that this quality, and inconsistancy between days/ bottles, would not sit well with most cruisers who had any wine expereince at all. If all you want is "red" so be it... but most of us want more...
  2. We've been on dozens of Azamara cruises and this has never happened.
  3. Going back to the original topic: will-pre-cruise-testing-end-on-azamara-soon,....I hope NOT! If you read this and other boards you will see than many people come down with COVID on the cruise or shortly after. And most people are not masked on board.... even though they seem to be coughing up a storm, including in the Cabaret Theater. The demographic of Azamara cruisers make many of us more susceptible to adverse outcomes of COVID, even if not more susceptible to catching it. Even granting that many of these positive cases were “negative” upon boarding, it just seems foolish to remove any protection that is available. Allowing “positive” people to board will only increase the bad outcomes.
  4. So... the "steel work' was done.... but the internal cabin concerns, documented onother boards, was not addressed... another Company???
  5. Thanks Sue... who are the senior offices ( Capt, CD, Hotel Director)?

    CONCERNED!!

We were on the Quest for 3 B2B cruises in March/April. Ryszard was everywhere, visible everyday, very engaging.... at the gangway each morning, at the threater each night, cooking and serving dinner/dessert many days. We detected NO CHANGE whatsoever from the "before times."
  7. Thanks, JoyRide, for the continuing update. We are on the Pursuit in about a month. Can you tell us who the senior officers are (Capt, CD, Hotel Director, etc.) and how many people are on board? We were in the Quest in April, going the other way, Lisbon to Barcelona, had a wonderful trip, and are interested in how your voyage is going.
  8. Most of this discussion has revolved around the various views of the tipERs. In past years these may have been interesting conversations and discussions, with all kinds of cultural / nationalistic perspectives understandablely involved. But I think now we ought to take into consideration the past two-plus years and their effect on the tipEEs. Since the cruising-restart we have been on several cruises and have adopted the attitude that the crew have had a TERRIBLE couple of years, with little income, little support for their families, etc. These folks are not like a random server at a random restaurant in Downtown-wherever-you-life. Some of them we have know for years --- they are more like a nieces or nephews, or distant cousins than a random kid working in a hotel or restaurant. Many, or even most, of us Azamara cruisers were not so hard hit financially by the pandemic as the crew was. I’ll admit that my tipping habits have changed in the past two years, and I tip more now than I did Before. I'm not talking about huge sums, but a few dollars/euros/pounds spread around, that truely mean more the to recipient than the giver. I know this is in-elegantly presented, but I think there are two sides to the tipping, and we ought to consider both rather than just focusing on ourselves…
  9. Thanks for your comments... and I agree that the ACO board has degenerated into tonic water and hair dryers. BUT.... it offers the opportunity for posting what is actually going on on all current cruises. Using a specific board for Ship X date Y become unwieldy. I have enjoyed and learned from the posts on this board. I just don't see the same level of detail from the current Quest, or OnWard or Journey cruise ( have they started?). Having it all in one place would be useful to those of us not currently on a specific cruise
  10. Thanks to all for posting. SHOULD this board be merged with the "anyone currently onboard: board? The idea is the same, and ACO is an ongoing forum???
  11. Could I ask for some basic info? For each cruise, could someone post which date, what ship, how many passengers, Senior officers ( Capt, CD, HD), what restaurants are open (Prime C, Aqualine, Patio), what meals and menus? I ask because this kind of info will provide us some info on how the "restart" is going, especially now that most ships are in Europe, and because about half the past 49 pages have addressed such things, but lately we've been hung up on tonic wate and hair dryers...
