  1. plan ahead! I create envelopes and put the cash in to cover each envelope (soda cards, excursions, tips...). once onboard I deposit all of that cash so its done. its so easy to manage this way. I always have an envelope for "emergency" and "other". these are kept in my safe until needed.

I also do envelopes. I am a big planner so I know which ports will cost me more or less and plan accordingly. I have an envelope for each day and at the end of the day any money left over goes into the next day's envelope.

  2. Often as I cruise these forums I feel like DH and I are the only ones that are perfectly happy in a "cheap" cabin. Our first cruise was in an interior and the only reason I prefer an ocean view is the natural daylight to help wake up in the morning. We are only in our cabin to shower, change, sleep and ;)

Am I all alone? Sometimes reading these forums I feel like I am in steerage class on the Titanic. :o

  3. I've seen some passengers outright refuse, or take just a little, or there was one passenger who asked for "just a little" and then proceeded to "share with her husband" by dabbing her fingertips on his.

I'd have a lot more respect for the person who says, "I'm sorry, I'm allergic or have sensitive skin" to the person who makes up some other feeble excuse or refuses altogether.

We use their hand sanitizer and I always have by own little bottle at the table and we all sanitize again.

I remember my son at 2 on Carnival Dream. Bobbing from side to side, doing a little dance, and singing "hand ass-i-tiz-er". 5 years later, and we still call it that in our family. My DH will toss the bottle at the kids and tell them to "ass-i-tize".

    well good for you.

I refuse it. I am not a germ-a-phobe. I am allergic to a lot of chemicals. I wash my hands with plain soap and water.

  4. Thank you for the info and links... do you know where they talk about feeding the fish (tame trout I think) at? I think it is a bigger pool.

We went and swam with the fish and fed them but we had a guide and I have no clue where it was located. There was no waterfall there.

  5. Awesome. Thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll have more questions later about the different tours he provides. :)

Look on Craigslist, he lists quite a few to give you an idea of what he can offer. He will also customize. I can't say enough good things about him. We are really looking forward to our tour in 2 weeks and have been communication through email about the details quite a bit.

  6. Does this person have a website?

If you are referring to Ellis I don't think he has a website but he is on facebook (tours with Ellis: See the Real Puerto Rico) and he advertises on Craigslist. http://puertorico.en.craigslist.org/trv/4807495115.html is one of his ads.

We really liked him last November and have another tour booked for later this month. He is really easy to work with and will go out of his way to give you what you want in a tour. His email is fleisherellis@aol.com

  7. We were on the Summit last November and I was really surprised that they closed the pool so early in the evening. Do they close the T-pool at the same time. I have to admit I never checked. An evening swim is something I enjoy.

What did you find to be unexpected?

  8. You can not be referring to me as this is the first time I have even posted on the Celebrity board. But I am referring to you when I say you are rude!

I was the guilty one. I asked a question on here and then realized it might not get seen since I was hijacking someone else's thread and I started my own.

  9. Having 3 children and 5 grandchildren as well as being around many pregnant friends and relatives I have to ask why in the world a person would need a special menu just because they are pregnant?

  10. As I understand it, the reduced deposit takes the place of the normal deposit. So once you put down the reduced deposit amount, the next money due is the Final Payment.

You may receive a booking confirmation form with a different date -- some people have reported that they are seeing that full deposit is due earlier but that seems to be a relic of the form they use, not accurate information.

The same thing happens when you book on board at a reduced deposit rate. The booking confirmation form shows that a larger amount is due, but most of the on board agents remember to cross that off and it is to be ignored.

    Thanks!!
