  1. My post was an answer to your statement of Tampa only offering 4-5 night cruises available, and you mentioned you had to drive to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale to take a longer cruise of 7 nights. Obviously Tampa has several 7 night cruises on several lines leaving out of there. And you are a local? Your previous post: I live in Tampa, all the cruises out of the local port are 4 or 5 night cruises nd I go on a number for quick getaways. I have rarely experienced what you are saying, although I don't go during spring break tim or other party times. When I want to go on a longer cruise I go to PC of FLL or Miami. I do enjoy the quick getaways and it's really a matter of timing and not being so easily offended by people.... too many here are stick in the muds/holier than thou's and don't remember when they were younger.
  2. LOL...I have several times thought about coughing loudly when too many push their way onto the elevator at a stop. 😄
  3. No one would have a problem with you being gone for 15 minutes to grab a snack/quick breakfast. This thread is about the real Hogs that place towels on 5-10 loungers early in the morning, then leave and not show up to use them until afternoon. That is a problem....not you.
  4. No problem...just be sure to stay at the "no pee zone" end of the pool. 🤪
  5. How about a manikin in the theater seat....maybe holding a sign that states..."Beware...I have Covid".
  6. Indeed...enough to gross anyone out. Yuck!! Hot bacteria soup...not something I would feel a need to "bath" in. 😱
  7. Yup, I think we are on to something here. 😄 😄
  8. LOL...yeah...you are welcome. 😄 😄
  9. He just didn't get caught. 😉 I had one attendant that questioned my lights when she saw them hung up....I brought her over to touch them (cool)...and she apologized letting me know they were allowed. Good point about the extension cord...which is the reason I always put my lights in my carry on...just in case.
  10. Very good point...and agree completely. Having to pay for a 10 year passport, that is only good for 9 years? Not right. And going through all those delays, cost, and hassle....not something we should have to deal with so often. Even my DL is good for 10 years...and it is good until the last day!!
  11. I do the same on December cruises. Use the magnet hooks on the wall, then hang my LED battery lights along the wall. Very festive. LED allowed.. non LED not allowed. LED does not get hot.
  12. What you did not notice is many of those pax that already supplied a photo, have to have it redone at check in anyway. The real delay is Daddy thumbing through his phone trying to find all the set sail passes for his family.
  13. Excellent idea!! The simple ones are always the best! 🙂
  14. This exactly ^. What is next, leave things at your favorite WJ table for breakfast to save it for lunch?
  15. I don't understand kids in the hot tub at all anyway. I remember seeing signs on some ships that state no children under 16 allowed. Has that changed? And Bubba, with his bucket of beer next to him, sitting the hot tub for hours with no breaks...ummm....🤢
  16. Totally agree. Bucky does the same as you do, finds an upper deck lounger as far away from the "Belly flop contest/Men's sexy legs, etc. loud, brain dead, drunken festivities" as possible to read a book in the sun. Me, I stay out of the sun (tired of being cut on) and read in the cabin....or on the lap top. 😉 One of the best hog viewing areas is up in the VCL when I pick up our morning coffee...windows looking down over the piggy claims as they glance back and forth to see is anyone is watching as they set up their domain. Hogs indeed drawn to water...toooo funny! 😄
  17. Mine does not expire until a year from now, but a Sept. 3 week river cruise I have booked in Europe requires it to be at least six months before expiration. This was my only window to send it in when I didn't need it right away. Kind of the pits to have to renew it a year early. Six months before expiration with months left even after I complete the cruise, .....that is pretty rotten for them to require that IMHO. 😠
  18. Will do...though I won't be able to check my mail until mid June when I get back from Maui. Guessing my post office will receive around mid May. I will still be able to check status online with processing.
  19. Thanks...was not sure how that was working, since we rarely check out towels.
  20. Yup, exactly. Why bother going through the effort? Takes a few seconds for agent to snap picture at check in to be sure it is acceptable and done.
  21. A few months ago, on Serenade, there were some notes left on doors the day before last, reminding pax to return their towels or they would be charged the 25.00. There were a few annoyed pax that forgot and did not bother to turn them in. Our neighbor started to cuss loudly when she got that note, they had several children in the cabin. Since we don't do the pool towels, we did not get the note...but there were plenty on the doors that did have their cards swiped. Just not sure if they are still swiping cards when you check out a pool towel at the towel desk, or not on other ships...or even at all now.
  22. LOL....it's really not a terrible situation. Just means you have very small windows of opportunity when you are actually home. We are in that same situation, moss not growing on our stone, not very many open windows to plug things in like doctor appointments, paperwork (ughh...taxes), etc. 😉 Traveling does take up some time. 😄
  23. I seriously never give the photo a second thought. It is just sooo easy to just have check in agent take the photo. One and done. And from what I have read, many of those that have taken the time to upload a photo, find they have to have it taken again at check in anyway.
  24. We normally don't use that when sailing in JS and above (love those walk in closets with lots of shelves!)...but we are stuck in a regular balcony for World Cruise...and indeed taking my hanging shoe pocket holder with us! 🙂 Have an additional couple of hanging storage pocket things which will go on wall magnets. I take too many color coordinated flip flops. 😄
  25. Could not do online renewal. My check of status on my expedited passport renewal stated 7-9 weeks from start of processing. They did not officially show it as processing until 5 days after they cashed my check. I had tracking on it when I mailed it, but it never showed up as received (thank you USPS). Luckily I had a sigh of relief when they cashed my check, so I knew they had it.
