  1. I am also Pinnacle...but I am now, ironically, starting to book with other lines. Have booked four other cruises with two different lines in the past couple of months, that after being "loyal to royal" for over 15 years now. Just too many factors taking me away with the eroding of benefits, the food, the short staffing problem leading to lack of service we enjoyed of past cruises, the uncontrolled children, some of the rude attitudes (the "me first" types).....just to name a few. It all adds up.
  2. Did not see anyone post this yet, or I missed it. In the last few months, it was made official that D+ are permanently kicked out of the CL (on ships that still have them). And Pinnacles only have access if the non-suite Pinnies are under a ship's individual threshold number. Indeed you have to use your vouchers in the DL....or simply use them at any lounge around the ship. That is what we do. I only use the CL/DL/SL for coffee in the morning.
  3. The week before it was 1:00. It varies due to conditions. Luckily that week (I was on same cruise) we were 2nd week of B2B...did not affect us. 😉
  4. Exactly. Right through the closed sign, the closed fire door, and to the annoyance of the crew members trying to get the cabins ready. Can you imagine if everyone did that? But that's OK...some are just "special". 😉
  5. Where did you get your card before the cabins opened on embarkation day?
  6. LOL...you are not missing anything. That free "Champagne" is rot gut. And of course the old French wine makers from Champagne France are rolling over in their graves whenever we call that stuff "Champagne". Ok...off the wine snob soap box now. 😄 Any time we got that bottle, like others...we gave it away to one of the crew. 😉
  7. If they don't prop the door open, do be prepared to knock and hope someone lets you in. You won't have your access card until the cabins are open.
  8. I love liver...well chicken liver anyway...but not good for me. Sigh... Doc once told me, if it tastes good...spit it out. If it tastes like cardboard, you can eat it. 😉 At least I do love Tofu. 😄
  9. Really a shame it has to come to that. I have booked 3 Viking cruises in the last several months, and this being a long time "Loyal to Royal" cruiser. Just tired of the out of control "feral" children that run wild during the whole cruise. I also avoid spring break season like the plague when cruising Royal. Unfortunately the "parents" of those precious snowflakes are not parents...they are breeders. Not the kids fault...but their idiot parents that are too lazy to prepare them for adulthood.
  10. Now if they could just cook the veggies! I can always order a salad, which I love...but I like my side veggies cooked. No munching on rabbit food with my chicken please.
  11. Oh wow....that is awful. Sorry you had that experience. Probably another reason I have recently booked another 5 new cruises....none of them being our usual RCI. 🤫
  12. Ah...sorry. I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying you were in a JS cabin. Sorry about the SL concierges. I do remember they did not circulate the room, simply staying at their desk the whole time. On other smaller ships...they always work the room.
  13. I already did....several of them. Tired of C&A perks, plus so many other things being eroded by RCI.
  14. Unfortunately, the suites concierge won't pay much attention to JS guests. They are not true suites guests. If you are Diamond or above...you can always use the concierge in the DL instead.
  15. I didn't have any trouble again booking the same GS (#1770) we had for the 2 week Med, and following TA again for a B2B this Oct. But I do book very early. Really nice cabin, great location on the port side of deck 17. We don't get the foot traffic on that side that the starboard side does with hallway access to SL/CK. And indeed, less full suites on Wonder. That ship was originally designed for the Asian market. We book GS and above on ships with that have CK. On the others, the JS works fine for us. I just don't like being restricted from that venue if too many Pinnies on the ship. We have not stepped foot into the DL since restart. Unless the coffee machine is broken in the CL/SL. 😉 Prefer visiting other lounge venues for happy hour. On Voyager, Freedom, Radiance series....we use the VCL bar.
  16. Each ship has a threshold number of Pinnacles that are not in a suite that will be allowed into CK/SL. On the recent TA...there were over 300 Pinnacles. Those not in a suite...were not allowed in. Solarium Bistro was set aside as Pinnacle only venue for an alternative. Those key access doors are supposed to be kept closed. Those not in a suite must use the buzzer at the door for access. Assuming someone in CK actually answers it. We were in a GS so it did not affect us, and we were not the only ones. If you see a lot of Pinnacles in CK/SL on a Pinnacle heavy cruise...it could simply be they are Pinnacles in a full suite.
  17. OK...bottom line is that those that think giving 2 dollar bills is "cute" just are not realizing it is not what the servers want. Geez...people either give them usable single dollar bills...or as previously suggested....cough it up and give them a "fiver" for those two drinks. You want to stand out as special with those 2.00 bills...how about standing out as more special and give your waiter/bartender a "fiver" they can actually use for those two drinks....we do quite often. Guess which gets way more attention than your 2.00 bills. 😉
  18. No thanks....not interested in being on an Oasis class in a JS and having to knock on the door to be let in. Feels too much like an outsider...not worth it. IMHO, CK should be for full suites only. Too many other dining venues around the ship to use, free and pay venues included. Even worse on Wonder...locked door is way..way down the hallway. You have to hope someone will hear the buzzer.
  19. Ditto to that!! I am pretty fast with simply handing over my cropped set sail pass, along with passport, and (not that they use it any longer) Covid test all neatly tucked into a single folder. No fumbling with the phone, standing there scrolling. 😉
  20. Agree...simply use the website...that is what I do as well. And if the app goes down on the ship...same thing we did before cell phones happened. Do it the old fashioned way...go to GS desk. I swear the population would cease to function if all cell signals were suddenly suspended. The poor kids would be forced to talk to each other...in person!! OMG!! 😱
  21. Unfortunately I still have some of these. Should make interesting wallpaper. 😮
