  1. Maybe things have changed. We haven't tried to access it for several years now. Previously our Home Depot had the discount just on Veterans Day, Fourth of July...etc. Will try again. Thanks!
  2. Nice. I wish our Home Depot up here offered daily military 10% discounts. We have tried several times, but gave up. We like our Lowes, and the same...just phone number...we are in their system.
  3. Really? Our area Home Depot only offers on very rare select days the military discount, both here in Titusville and Merritt Island. Our Lowes here offers it daily. Where are you getting that discount daily from Home Depot?
  4. That is what I did...before I agreed to Viking's flight and transferring to Air Plus. I priced it out what they offered, happening to be on our usual airline of choice, United. If I booked direct myself, I would have paid more than 5K what I paid for using Viking. The seats filling up were in first class (pod seats). There is limited availability in those, and especially with 17 plus hour flights...pax seem to book early. Makes sense. No idea how many coach class seats are available.
  5. From what the Air Plus agent with Viking told me, and what United shows on their website...there are seats already taken in first/business class. Even the ones I normally use. Though no worries to you....I am already booked on Business class for our long trip to Australia with a good itinerary and great seats. You can relax now, knowing I am happy. 🙂
  6. Agree...though at this point for me...it's live and learn. They got me just once...but never again. 😉
  7. IMHO...the really high rates that RCI is charging now, it would go a long way for them to offer regular standard Military and senior discounts as a PR statement. Let's face it....RCI is not intending to lure the seniors much any longer anyway, what with the Mega theme park ships geared for families. And military, police discounts are just a nice thing to do for those that serve. Lowes gets our business over Home Depot. 😉
  8. I booked my second Viking cruise, but did not know at the time about the deferred final payment. When I found out about, I asked to have it deferred and was told "Once you agree to the terms.....that's it" Learned from that mistake, so while doing booking #3 I made sure they understood I wanted the deferred final...no problem, easily done. Indeed, if you don't ask....and even worse....if you don't know.
  9. That is what I did as well yesterday. Opted to pay the 150 per person to add on Air Plus, just to get the early ticketing at 274 days out. And even then...half of the seats were already booked. Was worried about that with the longer flight. Yikes...happy I did not wait! Received a great itinerary at 5K less than what I could have booked the same flights myself.
  10. Just had them ticket my Aussie/NZ B2B. Was all United, and did not ask...it just was offered. Happy about that, as I had her put in my frequent flyer miles, since it is my #1 airline I use for those miles I collect on CC as well. 🙂
  11. The only discounts we have received is military, and that being more and more rare (shame on that). 😞 Never see any discounts when I put in "senior" or "Florida Resident". I think they are just teasers. 🤑
  12. I received an email early morning yesterday. Had two forms attached in a link to be filled out, which I did and sent off. In "snail" mail I received that ballot the same day, that was totally different than the claims forms. I sent the two first forms certified with return receipt, which gives me paper trail of when I submitted. Will send the ballot choice out today. I was bullied to pay in full over 19 thousand dollars for my B2B cruise on Empress. Was not happy about doing that, but they insisted I would lose the large promo credit they had given me earlier if I did not. Claimed it was a mistake in the wording online. Should have had enough red flags at that time, but did not listen to them. My huge mistake. My ballot show 12K for the 19 they owe me. Not sure what is up with that. I have a feeling I will never see that money again, but if I get anything at all back, it would be better than nothing I guess. Huge financial hit to pay that much with nothing to show for it.
  13. While on the World Cruise, especially in the first few weeks, we had way too many Tic Tok types posting wrong and misleading information. Many of them were not on the cruise, and some had never cruised before, but acted like they were on board. There are a few very good ones on board, one being a friend of mine, but too many were way out of line. Did not earn my respect.
  14. Booked for the afternoon showing next week. 🙂
  15. Keep in mind Tic Tock may not be a reliable source. 😉
  16. The OP was talking about Port Canaveral/Orlando. Quite a bit further away versus cruise port to airport at Miami. Of course Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale) and Tampa are even closer to the airports. Orlando airport is 45 minutes from Port Canaveral on a good traffic day.
  17. You are most welcome. Enjoy your cruise! 🙂
  18. Ohh...I like your new avatar picture Dave! Peace brother!! 😉
  19. You will get an email telling you your docs are ready. But I always check at 30 days prior to see if they are available...which I do online.
  20. There is no need to print your cruise documents (the ones that are up to 20 pages long). Just print your "set sail" pass...the one with the bar code. Just that single page. And your luggage tags (I use the reusable plastic sleeves, attached with zip ties). Two per bag for me. And has been mentioned...30 days before your cruise embarks you will see those forms. Some will of course chime in to tell you that you don't have to print anything...but I like being prepared with ease of check in having my tags on the bags to hand off to the porters, and my set sail pass snuggled in with my passport book ready to hand over to check in.
  21. Another tech mistake on Myviking website. Incorrectly showing my air itinerary will be available 84 days prior to cruise...when it is actually 150. Talked to agent yesterday, who indeed confirmed it is a mistake that tech needs to correct. But she could do nothing on her end.
  22. No way. Though if you decide to chance it (and there is a reason the airlines discount those earlier flights) do be prepared to use a back up plan if/when you miss your flight. The odds are against you.
  23. The six ships in the Vision class were a set of three twins. Grandeur and EN were twins, until they cut EN in half and added that middle section (which was a not a great investment for RCI). Rhapsody twin to Vision. Splendor twin to Legend. I miss them all. 😞 But happy to be on a B2B on EN later this year. 🙂
  24. Which is kind of nice for us...I don't look good in that life jacket.
