  1. I don't know how Carnival ships became part of the conversations but I'll be in the minority and disagree with the comments. Carnival Mardi Gras is different from Carnival's older ships and just as nice as an S class ship. I enjoyed my Carnival cruise and all my Celebrity cruises. I have a Reflection sailing coming up in a few months. I expect the rooms to feel dated compared to the Edge and my upcoming Beyond but overall Celebrity keeps their ships well maintained. I don't expect to be disappointed. Discovery Princess is a brand new ship with Alaska sailings. The food is a bit better on Celebrity but I find more nightly entertainment on Princess. You can not go wrong with either.
  2. This thread is for Virgin Voyages cabin information compilation. Please do not post cabin questions on this thread so that it can remain a place to post reviews of cabins. Please copy and paste the following, including the colons " : " into a post. Add your information, including photos or links to photos, if you wish. 3. Thank you, glad I found this thread. I had a room with no hammock. I would have been disappointed if I got onboard and there was no hammock. You think the sales rep would have given me the heads up. There should be a sticker for VV cabins like other cruise lines.
  4. Royal Caribbean was reluctant to put a ship on the West Coast supposedly due to low demand. The Navigator was finally redeployed in 2020 and it seems to sell out. The Navigator has been renovated but you can still tell it's older. Princess, Carnival and NCL all have newer ships. VV would be do well as a new ship. At this point, it's the only mainstream cruise line not sailing from the West Coast. If VV follows the money, there will be a ship there when the late 2024 and later itineraries are released.

  7. I totally agree. Maybe when more ship are built the itineraries will be longer.
  8. Thanks for the clarification.. I thought this was a promotion being offered by a TA not necessarily the actual TA.
  9. I'm a fan on Labadee. I've been many times on RC cruises and never saw a stray dog or any dog. Seagulls definitely roam the island. Vendors like all the Caribbean islands can be pushy. I avoid them and markets in every port.
  10. Thank you for the information. I'm surprised Celebrity did not expand the dining venues especially Luminae with the extra passengers. I have an upcoming sailing on the Reflection. I am in a suite, which are not sold out but will probably be at capacity with winning Move Up bids. I'll hope for the best. I have a RC ship that I will never sail on again. I understand how this can happen.
  11. The original post seem more like preferences than anything worth noting and reflective of the OP not doing homework on the ship before booking. . I've read many posts in this Celebrity forum and this is the first that I can remember with a complaint about a dangerous cabin layout and ship areas. I have not been on Solstice but have sailed on the site ship Equinox and did not have any issues with ramps.
  12. I am deciding something similar. Discovery Princess (April) or Celebrity Solstice (February) both 7N Mexican Rivera. I have sailed on Discovery and Celebrity Equinox, which is a sister ship to Solstice. The pros for Celebrity are buffet and food overall is better, balconies are bigger and the Martini Bar is a good vibe. Pros on Princess are speciality dining is half the cost of Celebrity, Good Spirt Bar has a nice vibe, the ship is new and bigger and I really like the Medallion (worked well enough for me on Discovery). Personally, I think Princess has more evening and better activities than Celebrity. Although more money, I decided on Princess to be on a new ship and the weather will be warmer in April. My biggest issue with Princess is that it's too bright in the evening. I don't understand why lights are not dimmed. San Pedro port is awful compared to any terminal Celebrity uses in FL. I agree with others that the sea days on Mexican Rivera cruise a quite chilly. The Caribbean is a better choice to sit by the pool and relax.
  13. If you did the math, I'll defer to you. I've never played roulette for 4 hours straight and definitely not $50 per spin. I have played constantly throughout the week on a 7 night cruise and have never accumulated any points to warrant a free or discounted room or a move up to the next category. At this point, I play for fun until I hit my set win/lost ratio. Carnival on the other hand is always offering something with the same amount of play and money spent.
  14. I was referring to Sabatini. I consider Alfredo's a pizza restaurant but I can see how it could be considered Italian. I may have mistakenly remembered my TA telling me the Island Princess was an older ship and did not have the Medallion. If all ships have been retrofitted to add Medallion, this this doesn't matter. I only named Royal and discovery because they are the two I've been on.
  15. I don't think the Italian restaurant or buffet are good. The food was somewhat bland for me. The steakhouse, pizza, French toast at breakfast and main dining room are all good. I suggest a Medallion ship as these are the newer ones with more food options. I liked both the Royal Princess and Discovery Princess ship.
  16. I only used the 10x and 2x as a reference in the amount spent. Yes, the biggest and most important factors are how long and how much you bet. However, you appear to be a big a bigger spender when you are betting a lot over the minimum. It may not get points but there may be other recognition from the casino. Nevertheless, it's difficult to gain signifiant casino point on table games, roulette in particular.
  17. I have been on the Edge twice since July 2021 and have nine cruises book from now until 2024. Two are on the Beyond, one on the Apex and one on the Edge. The rest are S Class ships. I also recently cancelled a December Apex sailing. No ship offered the Ultimate dining package. The options are 3, 4, 5 or 6 night dining packages. Can you post a screenshot of the ultimate package? I would love to see more of the details.
  18. To gain casino points on roulette you have to play long and place lots of chips each spin. If the minimum bet is $5 and you play $50 a spin, you have played 10x more and appear to be a big spender. If the minimum bet is $25 and you play $50 you only played 2x more and don't appear to be spending as much. Either way $50 was spent.
  19. The new design looks really nice. Anyone hear when 2024 Caribbean itineraries will go on sale? Princess is stepping up their game with suite amenities with the Reserve and Signature categories. The cabana mini suite is intriguing but will probably be overpriced if a balcony if $7800.
  20. I've never heard of this. Is there really a thing?
  21. Have not seen the ultimate dining package offered in awhile. Typically there is a dining package with a 3, 4, 5, or 6 option.
  22. Typically the single zeros have a higher minimum bet. Princess is the worst. However, the roulette table on their new ship Discovery Princess is top of the line. Every possible win lights up on the table after every spin. Higher house advantage = better technology.. lol
  23. I cannot say for sure but I think it's the size of the bet. As in how many chips are on the table.
