  1. There has been change in leadership for sure but I have not heard about a change in base salary and commission due to the being in financial hardship. The only people who is paying the price is the consumer.
  2. I lived in NYC and aware of the weather. I left from LA in December and it was freezing once you hit the Pacific. Everyone was inside and those outside had on winter coats. Either way it's cold and you lose day and half going and a day and half coming back on either itinerary.
  3. It's the same weather sealing out of Long Beach to Mexico but Carnival, NCL, RC and Princess do it yearly.
  4. When I read about CEOs taking pay or bonus cuts then I'll believe it's about getting out of the pandemic hole. Prices have significantly increased and food quality significantly declined. Unfortunately, there isn't much value in cruising anymore especially for those who have been to ports multiple times and cruise for the enjoyment. Some of the non refurbished ships are in a desperate need of "modern luxury" upgrades or a lower price tag so that expectations matches the actual experience. Suite pricing is insane and the non refundable 10% deposit makes them harder to justify. I'm glad I took advantage of causing when it restarted and ships were empty because of the vaccine mandates and fear of getting back on a ship. These will forever be some of my best cruises. I stayed with Celebrity and booked a few cruises during the pandemic and restart. Most have the old packages (Elevate or Indulge) and pricing. These may be my last cruises, which is disappointing because I really like cruising but pricing is not matching the service. Hopefully, I'll see deals like the Beyond April cruise. Where is the logic for this type of pricing on a mainstream cruise line? A 9N Caribbean sailing on the Beyond in November.
  5. AQ and suites are not considered standard rooms and therefore have different options and pricing. Thanks for pointing this out, I edited my post to reflect standard rooms
  6. You can book (standard rooms) without the extras. Options are good because we all have different needs.
  7. Non refundable deposits are still available on suites. However, the price is significantly more. The sailings I looked at have been at least 1K more. Celebrity doesn't lose money when people cancel. When the room goes back in inventory it's sold at the new market rate, which is typically higher than when first released. It's expected that life happens and there is no guarantee that a reservation made 15 months in advance will be fulfilled. Suite prices drop when they are not selling because the price was more inflated than the actual value of the product. With the diminished quality of services and food but higher prices and now deposits, I suspect there will be less demand causing an abundance of inventory. Likely, suites will be less expensive closer to sailing.
  8. With non refundable suite depositsI I doubt this happens often. For the most part the deposit isn't going to increase much, if you book early when prices are low. If you are willing to lose a $500 deposit hoping the price goes down, you will probably be willing to lose $200 or $300 dollars more.
  9. Ditto, it was confusing. Was it a personal account or RC associated? He would like a lot of political tweets.
  10. I'm thinking the Reserve Collection is the new name for the Club Class rooms. These rooms have a separate dining area in the MDR and also suite amenities like priority boarding.
  11. Typically you have to show your boarding pass that says suite. 1. You can use the general boarding line with your son and DIL 2. Check in after 12 pm when there are no lines. This way it wont matter if you are in a suite or not.
  12. I believe it's 72 hours before sailing. You should be fine if you call on Monday,
  13. There are a few personal preferences. I preferred the flow of the casino on the Edge. Craft Social replaced the casino bar on the Beyond. Now there is a wall where the casino bar use to be. It makes the casino feel more closed in. I liked the artwork better on the Edge. I don't get the elephant statue on the pool deck on the Beyond. Maybe it has a meaning but it just seems out of place and doesn't add any value, imo. I feel like I am missing something but maybe it was just the overall vibe. The Sunset bar is nicer on the Beyond, and the bar in the Oceanview on the Beyond was a nice addition. I would sail either again but Edge would be my first choice.
  14. I preferred the Edge over the Beyond as well.
  15. Probably not but you can check in with them and get wheelchair assistance.
  16. I was on Reflection in Dec. I never had a problem getting a table but I also eat late. The same when I dined in Blu over Luminae. I recall at least one day with entertainers. I agree 100%. I prefer Michael's Club and having a bar to the Retreat. The bar in MC was crowded all evening until it closed.
  17. Enjoying the detail review. Now I want to look for a deal on the Apex.
  18. I also jumped on it. I looked yesterday to possibly upgrade to a S1 and the price is almost 2k more. Wish I saw the Ascent deal.
  19. Weird, I was looking at cruise I have booked. They are in the app. One cruise is 2023 and the other is in 2024.
  20. I checked a 2024 sailing in the app and see the same information. Maybe delete and then reinstall the app.
  21. I select a MDR in the app the select "Show More". Then I see the dining times.
  22. You can reprice with a non refundable deposit as well. I suggested a refundable deposit in case the price never goes down to an acceptable price.
  23. How would a non passenger access the cruise planner? when you select manage reservation from Celebrity's webpage, you either have to sign in or create an account.
