  1. I've decided to simply go without. The ship wifi/internet will suffice for our needs.
  2. I was looking at that for a cruise I have next year; French Polynesia is not one of the countries covered so that esim wouldn't suit.
  3. That's for sure. On a recent transatlantic we stopped in Tenerife. While walking along the main street some guy (a Viking cruiser) stopped me outside a drugstore and asked me whether I had any euros I'd be willing to sell him; he needed to pay for his heart medication and the pharmacist wasn't the least bit interested in taking USD.... he had a wad of them in his pocket and it was all pretty much useless to him. I sold him €10 for $14 and everything worked out. Interestingly, he gave me a $10 bill and two $2 bills. Why on earth would somebody take $2 bills on a cruise and expect anybody, other than an American or (maybe) a Canadian to take them?
  4. I believe you can book a Uber transfer from the station to the port along with your Brightline ticket. In any event, just take taxis for speed, simplicity and minimal extra cost above anything else you'll be able to arrange.
  5. Yes, that's likely. Unfortunately, they don't have a service desk on the cruise ship which normally isn't in the foreign exchange business.
  6. Is that very much different than what would happen if you did these transactions at your local bank?
  7. I booked 14 days on Sky Princess on June 13 out of Southampton to north of arctic circle for summer solstice. Excellent price for balcony cabin on deck 14.
  8. Are you planning on flying out of PSP? Is an LAX departure on the evening of Sept 7 a possibility?
  9. I don't smoke at all; simply provided the facts on what's permissible in the province.
  10. Perhaps you should stay clear of generalizing on this topic; in Ontario, this is the law: Where is it legal to smoke or vape cannabis? The new Act makes it legal to smoke and vape cannabis in the following places: Private residences Many outdoor public places (e.g. sidewalks, parks) Guest rooms in hotels, motels and inns designated as smoking rooms Residential vehicles and boats that meet certain criteria (e.g. have permanent sleeping accommodations and cooking facilities, and are parked or anchored) Scientific research and testing facilities (if the cannabis use is for scientific research and testing purposes) Controlled areas in: long-term care homes certain retirement homes residential hospices provincially-funded supportive housing designated psychiatric facilities or veterans’ facilities
  11. That's true... how is smoking marijuana anything like drinking beer in a pub?
  12. You can't smoke (anything) inside a pub.
  13. Good luck nailing this down.
  14. I suggest you book your specialty dining and not worry too much about a conflict with 'lobster night'.
  15. Princess isn't going to tell you where you can find and smoke weed legally.
  16. Buy it at a store.... they're more numerous than Starbucks.
  17. Sure. You can buy some and consume it while ashore. Don't try to take it on the ship.
  18. We took this excursion a couple of years ago; it was very good.
  19. I disagree. Currently, fees and taxes are clearly identified in the total cost - albeit at the end of the booking process. Including the fees and taxes in the price makes things totally opaque to the consumer.
  20. See this site and discover that US citizens do not require the transit visa. https://www.germany.info/us-en/service/visa/airport-transit-visa/924624
  21. I'd suggest that had to do with US CBP and nothing to do with any Canadian requirement.
  22. If you are leaving Canada, there is zero Canadian immigration/customs requirement.
  23. Seems to me that the ship will be cleared to enter Canada when it arrives in Sydney, NS. After that, no immigration or customs requirements. Passengers will be free to leave anytime they wish once in Quebec City; just need to clear this through Princess so they can keep track of who is (not) onboard when the cruise ends. No comparison to US CBP pre-clearance in Vancouver when heading to Alaska (or some other US port).
