  1. That had not crossed my mind; I was thinking more along the same line as rodndonna.
  2. Yes, having the bed closer to the bathroom leaves more space for moving around closer to the verandah.
  3. Your idea of an indentation seems to be quite different than mine.
  4. Neither one has bed near bathroom. You need to look for where the little bump out is in the cabin on the deck plan.... that is where the bed is NOT located.
  5. Kind of misses the point. All that police blather of yours is about something after the event(s).
  6. You got that right. Taking some reasonable precautions to mitigate or avoid illness (of pretty much any variety) is simply, and has always been, a matter of good planning/conduct and some good fortune. The vectors can be unpredictable and varied. There's always a risk to travel and sometimes things will work out well... and sometimes not.
  7. If passengers cared much about getting sick, they'd exercise precautions on their own and, perhaps, avoid cruising. Hope you're feeling better
  8. Not the easiest thing to do. Last time we were there, the bus from the port into the city dropped us off near the Piazza Grande. It is a fair ways from Piazza Grande to the Central Rail Station (not walkable).
  9. I bring along a throw away plastic poncho.
  10. Many choices. Tour of the Citadelle, walk around Plains of Abraham (including boardwal), either walk or take funicular from Dufferin Terrace to Lower Town, see Chateau Frontenac, Quebec Legislature and area. https://www.lacitadelle.qc.ca/en/informations/schedule-and-fees.html If you're an Inspector Gamache fan, try this: https://www.gamacheseries.com/bury-your-dead-real-place/
  11. That's me... I booked a Sun Princess cruise. When Celebrity Edge came out, I booked a cruise on that ship too and enjoyed it. Main difference between the Princess and Celebrity experience, in ky opinion, is the hype surcharge reflected in the pricing.
  12. Not really. It's more to do with your statement ... 'I see an itinerary that I like for October and wonder if it makes sense to book such a cruise at this time. ' To me, this would usually imply a desire to actually book the thing but, in this case, I don't believe you have any intention of booking this and that you started this thread solely to draw out commentary. Bravo! You've succeeded but that's it for me on this one.
  13. Yes, absolutely. I think the 'proposed booking' is more on the hypothetical side than the realistic one.
  14. I don't think it would be a good idea and, additionally, I think insurance companies would take a dim view of coming to your aid if you start booking things ina and around a region with a war in progress.
  15. Do whatever you like. Big tips, no tips, 0%, 100%, $1, $20... it's no business of mine. It's just the way you rationalize it all that grates.
  16. The whole idea of making a separate trip to NYC and what that may entail as far as time, expense and hassle is what makes me suspicious of these sort of arrangements. If it works for you (and your brother), that's great.
  17. I'm usually a bit suspicious when people talk about 'hopping' across the border to Buffalo (or Burlington, VT), taking a 'cheap' flight to a major US hub then changing airlines and flying from there. In your example, how much extra time and $$ do you think it would take to do what you're suggesting compared to traveling from St. Catherines (for example) to YYZ?
  18. Agree with *Miss G*... Porter is much more likely to get backed up on their flights, especially if the one you're planning on taking out of YOW originated in a US airport.
  19. This pretty much echoes the Princess advertising - Save On Things You're Gonna Do Anyway. If the things are worth $20/day to you, great. Me, I'd run the risk of a bit of nickling and diming.
  20. Yes, but it's more fun to make things confused and difficult for this poster.
  21. Maybe so. I usually go to an airline website to do ky bookings; Air Canada is part of Star Alliance and I wouldn't trust or use the United site to locate and/or book AC flights.
  22. Looks like they do. Bookable at their website.
  23. You can't. You pay the service charges and ask NCL for reimbursement after completion of the cruise.
