Are you flying to join the ship ?
From Glasgow ? Otherwise, if you live in Edinburgh I would assume you can get to EDI conveniently leaving the car at home ?
Although we haven't tried it as yet, there is now an additional (terminal destination) stop on public service bus X24 through Kincardine on Forth, to GLA airport.
Is there nothing similar over your way ?
No going from Newcastle. But parking is all sorted now thanks

I eventually got my parking booked at The Thomsons shop. Was less than I could find online so let’s hope it works out OK I am not exactly confident they have done everything correctly at this point
-
The excursions are either a full day or half day If the ship leaves early evening or late afternoon the half days are usually morning and leave usually half an hour after docking or an hour after anchoring If the ship is in til later in the evening the excursions if 4hrs can be in the afternoon as well if enough cruisers book. If this is the case and your tickets are for morning and you prefer the afternoon you can change them at destination services on the ship once they arrive in your cabin or vice versa. You use your booking reference on your confirmation on the link given above to book on line. Excursions are little more expensive when booked on the ship but you may wish to attend the seminar on your second day (usually the sea day) to find out about the trips available from the Destinations Team Enjoy
Yes it was one of the half day ones I wanted to go on but ONLY if it was in the morning. If they cannot guarantee that I won’t book. Seams a crazy system. All of the other cruises I have been on you can pick a time. I know exactly which excursion I want to do so will just wait to see the situation on board.

you can book excursions online
https://cruiseexcursions.tui.co.uk/?_ga=2.65638382.1585636113.1520351215-1039703397.1520351215
most of them leave early in the morning but sometimes there can be the half day ones departing in the afternoons, bt times are not known til onboard the ship
Thanks for that vital sign. The Thompson’s staff told me I was not allowed to do that.

Honestly WHAT a Faff. - I booked my June cruise at a Thomsons Travel shop as frankly the website is rubbish. Anyhoo - I was not aware that if I booked that way I could do NOTHING online (well my bad for not investigating that first).
Yesterday I went to book car parking and some excursions and could not believe that you just booked the excursion for the day. - No idea what time it left could be early morning, mid day or late afternoon. - Never Ever come across this on a cruise before. Having endured 45mins in the travel shop I sincerely hope that the cruise is better than the service I have had so far.
Just looking for reassurance that once on board the experience is far far far better than that of the travel shops. :o

You guys have very nice ham with your breakfasts' date=' but that is not bacon.:p:p
Baseball is my ball game of choice. Or soccer (your football). I don't understand our football at all.[/quote']
Warm Ham ROLF :) :)
And yes I do understand Baseball actually just whisper it Much better than cricket :o And being a Transatlantic brat I understand Both football codes :')

If bacon doesn't crumble' date=' it isn't cooked enough. Pizza is total hand food -- fold it and eat, especially when at a ball game o.[/quote']
No that is cremated butchered bacon :)
Urgh No if you can fold Pizza with your hands it’s NOT Pizza!!
And what’s a ball game :loudcry:;p

Don’t know Anyone that eats Pizza or Chips ;p with their hands. Would be the height of bad manners.
Oh and since we are on this thread Americans don’t know how to use their Indoor voices, have an obsession with Rick Steves and are far far more casually dressed. :);)

Non ear splitting MUSIC EVERYWHERE

Ah found it.
If you go to the Sea Park Website and pick “about us” from the menu you can pick “how to get here” with a link to the bus website.

Wow that’s a crazy price by PandO
I have been trying to find this out as well.
The city hop on hop off bus does go there but it is £27.
Will be interested if you find out more information.

1. 15% or 18% gratuities on everything
2. People forgetting to use thier indoor voices
3. People whining about inane little things (oh wait actually no that’s part of my entertainment on a cruise. Just love hanging round Guest Services listening to some complaints)
4. People who complain if anyone jumps on the lift and they think it’s too full but the buzzer has not gone off

There are many businesses that do not depend on tourism! Turning beautiful historic cities into Disneyfied tourist destinations for the undiscriminating and uncaring can never be a good thing.
So true I hardly ever go into town anymore especially at this time of year. It's just swarming with tourists. So local businesses loose out on my money and I would spend it all year round.
Incidentally Dubrovnik is amazing in the evening when the hoards of visitors have gone

The Irish stew wasn't too bad...
Hmm they did not have Irish Stew on the Menu when I sailed on the Getaway this summer
-
Fajitas were great and enjoyed the chicken sarnie but did not try or want to try the Shepherds Pie as from the menu description it wasn't! Actually Shepherds Pie

As a broad Yershire Tyke, I have to say that from Scotland......Ock the new!
Aye Mon ;);)

I would hardly call what they speak in most of the UK "English"
How arrogant at least most people in the U.K. Don't mangle the language like those in the US

Well it may be different from what you are used to but it is certainly not "dangerous". And it really depends on how far north you go. In the south of Norway you will still have the simmer dim. After all remember 100 of thousands of people live in areas where it does not get completely dark during the summer. I would more concerned if you were going during the winter when it never gets light.
If you can nap during the day it would be just the same although that being said even for me it was quite strange when we had three days of daylight during my cruise up past the Artic circle.
Maybe it's because what I am used to but it's not a big issue. So much so I could NEVER have an inside cable as it being dark all the time freaks me out.
If you are that concerned would an Inside cabin be an option?

And what about the alleged two bottles of beer they got to take away Bet Security loved that
-
Yes, I’ve changed my mind. The tours were over priced, not under priced! And I wonder how the selling souvenirs on board works when no passengers carry cash with them! Artistic licence, me thinks.
Good point!!!
Do you think people knew it was the apprentice and went along for a laugh?

Oh my it's Carnage :o
Molde, Norway?
in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea

Hi Ine,
Yes I was in Molde a couple of years ago. It was a cruise up to North Cape and back so they made Molde one of the stops on the way back down as we had been to Alesund on the way up.
I went to the Varden Panorama in the morning, got the shuttle the cruiseline offered but some people made it in to a longer trip and walked up. Then in the afternoon I went to the Romsdal Museum, which was one of the highlights of the trip. So much so I am considering visiting the similar Sunnmmore Museum in Alesund this year.
