:D
I'm currently sitting in the thermal suites on the Escape! We had to wait a little before being allowed to use them - muster drill first, as I recall. But we were in the thermals to enjoy the ship sailing out. 5:00pm is probably correct.
As a previous poster mentioned, they're open for viewing until that point.
Enjoy! They add so much to the cruise. And rarely super busy.
Completely Jealous ;) wish I was there right now :) can't wait got such a good deal with the fare decided to treat myself to the spa. It's my first time :D
-
The time that they put on it is the time that the ship sets sail, however on embarkation day the spa opens at I THINK noon (on most ships leaving at 4PM). Once it's open, you'll be able to enjoy the amenities, as your keycard already has the Thermal Spa loaded onto it.
Ah that makes sense I bet all a board or sail away is at 17:00
-
I THINK (I'm not sure) that it's because the spa is open for tours the first day until then. I've seen lots of tours on YouTube and there is never anyone relaxing in there then.
It makes sense to me, because that is how they sell the passes, either for that cruise or a future one.
I think they lock it down to keep the riff raff out after sail away.
*please note I was joking about riff raff[emoji57]

LOL if I can get in earlier I don't mind being watched by the riff raff:eek:

Just booked the Thermal Spa pass.
On the receipt for the start of a he pass on embarkation day it includes a time. In this Instance 17:05, does that mean I can not use the spa before that on the first day.
Any comments welcome
Thanks

thxs for your info ---sorry about the (lake) Loch miss -use. Think you are right about going :North
:) No problem :) if you were going just didn't want you to stand out as a daft American :):):):)
-
Invergordon its self is a small local town you could walk round it in under an hour barring stopping for coffee or lunch.
Going North depending on your transport you could visit Glenmorangie and Clynelish Distillerys, Falls of Shin and Dunrobin Castle although not all of them. Dornoch is again a small local town but has some nice shops where you could get some souvenirs that are not the usual "tat" if the weather is nice and it's your thing you could walk along the beach to Embo.
Going South LOCH (never Lake) :) Ness is nice to visit but to really see the loch itself you would have to take a cruise on it you could however visit Drumnadrochit and go monster hunting  And yes it is Touristy. You could also visit Inverness and Culloden and the Black Isle including Cromarty and Hugh Millers house and Chanonry point near Fortrose to watch for dolphins. Again you could not do all of these.
The above is dependent on you either having your own transport or a private tour booked.
If doing a ships tour I would guess the options would be Dunrobin Castle and Dornoch OR Loch Ness.
Me! I would go North.
-
Ooooh That would make a lovely souvenir.
If paying in cash do they take Roubles and Dollars?
-
By the way...your answer was really funny
I was in a daft mood :D
I am on the Getaway this summer so will see how it goes.
For all you more experienced cruisers out there what are the main differences between the two ships?
And would this be the reason the have changed them around.
-
Guess they don't know their plans for what they are doing in 900 years time  Sorry could not resist.
But I wondered that as well. Variety maybe??
-
For the same reason I've put all my US travel plans on hold. I do not like the changes and strongly believe that others than micm and myself is waiting to see what is happening, before the next US holiday or cruise from US port.
I too would not travel to OR transit through the US for the foreseeable future. Was thinking of a Caribbean cruise next year may well change my plans.

It's 100 days out for a suite and 90 days out for other cabin classes.
Thanks not in a suite so will put the 90 day marker in my diary

The Epic was NCL's first attempt at a mega ship. They took lessons learned from that ship and built sister ships the Breakaway and Getaway.
Better water park. Ropes course. Kept the rock walk which has subsequently been discontinued on newer ships.
Waterfront is a good idea. Dining is problematic if it is raining, windy, or too hot/humid. Seen lots of people start outside, and move in after a while.
Thanks for the info as it is a Baltic cruise I agree wind and rain might be a problem but I don't think heat/humidity will be :D but you never know :)
-
Been on the Epic once and the Getaway 3 times... I would most definitely choose the Getaway as the better ship. Something about the Epic just has an enclosed, Shopping mall like feel to it. The Getaway, with it's Waterfront feature, as well as the additions of the Sugarcane Mojito Bar, is my second favorite ship only bested by the Escape.
Yes prefect description of the Epic:) :)

You are confusing LEGAL immigrants and visitors with REFUGEES who have NO documentation at all.
Except People with LEGAL British Citizenship and Passports are being BANNED from entering
-
I have done a number of TAs do not recall seeing passengers from the banded countries on board
And how can you determine that!!
-
I sailed the Epic a couple of years ago it was OK, the cruise was great but the epic just Ok no "Wow" factor for me but I cruise for the ports.
I am on the Getaway in May because I got an amazing deal, I liked the idea of the Waterfront and have always wanted to cruise the ports we are going too.
For folks that have cruised both how do they compare and what's not to miss on the Getaway?
Thanks

Hi, No the Spa is not available to book yet, I think it is still too far out.
-
Hi all,
I am considering getting a Thermal Spa pass for my upcoming Baltic cruise on the Getaway.
I had considered trying to get a Vibe pass but a) can't be doing with all that rushing to try and secure one and b) there is always the chance that the weather might be on the chilly/wet side and c) it would be great to have a nice Spa, jacuzzi after a longish day sightseeing.
I understand you can book on line, can anyone tell me how far out you can do this.
Thanks

Not to replace a tip, but is there anything to give our guides for the Northern Europe tours, that they can't get themselves?
Sorry to be brutally honest but I have worked in the Tourist industry in the U.K. and any gifts (apart from food or alcohol) will most likely end up straight in the trash.
-
I do agree this is inappropriate and thoughtless. If people are on their own exploring, that is different. If there was a smoker in the huddle around the speaking tour guide, I would expect the guide to ask him to distance himself, if the smoker doesn't have the decency to.
Or perhaps if you don't like it you could distance yourself!

I like fixed dining but, hate! early seating FAR too early for me to eat :)
But that is just personal.
However if you are going in the summer say June/July it can still be amazingly warm and sunny at 18:00 and for me it is a shame to miss sitting out on deck/balcony enjoying the weather and having to go and get changed for dinner about 17:00.
That said if you are going in summer it will still be light till well after 22:00, in fact even in southern Norway it only gets dark for a couple of hours around 23:00 to 04:00 ish so, depending on where you are cruising you could have plenty of time to enjoy that amazing scenery after dinner,
Hope that helps

Yes I do :)
For me I feel more "dressed" and makes my shoes feel ore comfortable. If I wear them with sandals I wear the invisible or no toe types.
It's up to you really

Hi,
Not sure what day you are in Barcelona but you could go to Tibidabo. It's an amusement park.
I actually really liked Civitvacchia and you could go for a nice walk along the seafront and have lunch in a cafe.
