I attempted to leave positive feedback on the Navigator for several members of the cruise staff on my spring 21 day cruise. I never received any acknowledgement for any of them, not even a Thank You for letting us know. The only time I knew my praise was passed along was when stopped in the hallway one evening by the uniformed head officer (sorry don't remember his title) over Hotel services and he asked how are things going and if I was pleased with the service. I verbally praised my room steward as he was wonderful and probably the best I've ever had. The next day my steward told me he was notified of my praise and awarded - now hold on to your chair - a whopping $11. 😵 Oh well, guess better than nothing! I certainly attempted to make up it at the end of the cruise.

Bottom line is there is no discount applied to drinks - the card just keeps them from showing up on your stateroom account.

New to Holland America? This is for you...AKA "HAL For Dummies"

I drink only tea, no coffee. In the AM the choice of teas at the Lido includes British Breakfast Tea along with at least 10 other selections including Tips. While not boiling, the water is definitely hot enough to make a decent cup of tea. The water delivered from Room Service is not near as hot. As Ruth said the container of milk is sitting right at the same station. -
This was posted on another thread. As you can see your OBC depends on stateroom type and length of cruise.

Single Smoking Thread (Use for all smoking discussions on HAL) )
regnig replied to Lyndihop's topic in Holland America Line
Not a fact at all as I could care less if they eliminated smoking indoors. What I don't like is when folks squabbling over and over again about existing rules and regulations. Learn to live with it or sail with some line that has "no smoking" whatever. -
Single Smoking Thread (Use for all smoking discussions on HAL) )

Okay "Ipeeinthepools" & "KroozNut" could you two just agree to disagree please? Your bickering back and forth has dominated this thread for quite some time and has really really gotten dull and boring. And yes, before you type it, I know I don't have to read it. BTW, "Ipeeinthepools", what's with the handle? -
Thunder you are correct re MYR to FLL and return. I've been making the trip for several years now and booking direct with the airlines (AA or DL) is always cheaper than Flight Ease.

Volendam Cabin 7086 Crew deck outside or public?
regnig replied to mathed101's topic in Holland America Line
Probably a picture taken on departure day as they usually remove the chairs around the Sea View Pool due to the potential of lots of people wanting to watch from there. -
Boarding on Wednesday also for 21 days of bliss!

What you "believe" is correct. There have been several threads here on CC over the years about some kind of reciprocity between the CCL corp lines but to date nothing has been done. -

Do you have two booking numbers one for each leg or you have only one booking number for all 14 days? -
Luggage Direct and Airport Transportation

Do they allow Uber drivers to enter the port area in advance of someone requesting a ride or must they wait outside the gated area until a rider is confirmed? Also, what is the advantage of using Uber/Lyft over a cab? -
kazu Posted 1 hour ago "Curious as I was not contacted by security after my fall. And I was billed for all of the medical services." Jacqui I would make certain to point that fact out to HAL. Early Spring 2020 (prior Covid shutdown) I stupidly tried to take the end of my finger off closing one of the pool loungers. When I went down to medical and prior to even seeing the doctor the receptionist called the SECO down to speak with me. After explaining to him several times that HAL was not responsible for my stupidity he had me sign a form to that effect. Since I'm certain you advised medical that you had slipped on a wet floor they were negligent in not contacting the SECO. He/She should have spoken with you prior to you leaving medical. You should be reimbursed for all you out of pocket expenses.

Jacqui, you are correct it was a message from Jose BUT you got the actual message incorrect. What he was trying to show you was that you are a strong women and more that capable of dealing with what life hands you and you made him very proud. He does know how much you miss him but would not be happy if you stopped living your life to it's fullest. He will always be by your side............

On HAL's site the categories are color coded, just match the color to the code on the legend.

According to HAL it is location, location, location! Some do not agree with HAL opinion. Unless it is one of the odd shaped staterooms, easy to see on the deck plans, the "V" staterooms are identical. -
Sending warm wishes that your situation is resolved quickly. I will miss your daily postings but your health is a priority. Take care and please feel better soon!

Pretty much so and isn't it great! If you have questions about pretty much anything about your cruise and cannot find the answer on HAL's Before You Go site just ask you question here on CC. Additionally, I recommend you join (or at least read) the Roll Call for your cruise. -
HAL cancelled our cabana 2 days before sailing
regnig replied to lagirlforjesus's topic in Holland America Line
This sounds like the perfect solution and I would push HAL to expedite this plan. -
Kathi WONDERFUL to see your Christmas present! Just knowing that you will not fall will help make your gait much more normal and hopefully that will reduce your pain. I cannot thank you enough for taking all your time to keep us up to date on your travels. Wishing you a blessed holiday and a safe and healthy New Year.
