    There are many hotels in Miami of different price levels. That said, we usually stay at the Intercontinental.

    I assume you will have luggage with you....if so that may limit your activities. A hearty breakfast at the airport may help fill in some of the time.

    Good advice. We like to be more in charge of the transport/taxi/Uber on our trips.

    We've asked that alcoholic beverages not be placed in our room refrigerator ... ship staff always complied.

    Suggest looking at reviews in TripAdvisor ..... 14% not good.

    It is the safest in Miami to park at the port. I have read of problems in parking elsewhere.

    Parking at the port in Miami is the safest and most convenient. The cost should balanced against possible vehicle damage and losses parking elsewhere.

    My estimate is that hotels closer to the port have less incentive to offer "free" transport to the port.

    I suggest midtown Manhattan .... much to do.
