    I understand that safety of the vehicle is the prime reason for parking at the pier in Miami. Some say expensive but you don’t want to worry about the vehicle while on your cruise.

    I understand the OPs concerns. However, the cruise industry is in transition situation as it struggles to survive. Relaxation of some “rules” is understandable in my opinion. Once (hopefully) this industry gets fully back on its feet it can examine which rules make sense and reintroduce them.

    Celebrity in my opinion is 4 stars and Oceania is 5.

    I believe that the rate for dial 7 is rather high since there will be 4 passengers. Perhaps the cruise ship offers transfers to LGA at a lower cost. Worth exploring.

    Suggest looking at reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor. Some of the negative reviews are of concern.

    Manhattan has hotels that vary by cost depending on ones preference. Also, on the internet ratings are posted. Lower cost properties may not meet all Ops criteria.

    As others have said, cab availability varies. Last trip we (with luggage) went one block from the port and easily hailed a cab.

    Don't know how much you are prepared to spend, but we always stay at the Intercontinental. Just a short taxi ride to the port.

    Agree … Miami is not the city to take such chances.

    There are many hotel options in Manhattan. Perhaps take the hotel suggestions made here and then check reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor. Also evaluate the cost. As far as getting to the pier, take one of the many yellow cabs here.

    Agree .... covid has impacted many areas .... not surprised cruise ships are feeling the results.

    Brevard County conducts dinning inspections and they are available on the web.
