Stateroom Walls

1st time cruiser. I read stateroom walls are metal so magnetic hooks are a good option to hang things. Are all staterooms, including inside rooms metal?

No. Sometimes some cabins on the same ship are magnetic and others are not. In some cases heavy duty magnets work but others do not. Something that you can use in all staterooms are the Command products. They can hold quite a bit and come off the wall clean.

It can vary from one line to another, one ship to another, and one section of the ship to another. We’ve always been able to use our magnets, so I always toss a couple in the suitcase, since they don’t take up much room.

I have used frig magnets on every cruise and did not realize that not all walls are not magnetic. Thanks for the tip about Command hooks. I shall toss a couple into my cruise box so that we should be prepared for any event.

I've never needed to hang anything on the walls! There's plenty of storage!

We like to pin up invitations and other paperwork, so they don’t get shuffled under somtheing. Not all magnets need to have hooks.

The only place in my travels that hasn't worked is on stateroom doors (we only tried the door once, so others might have had a better experience).

I tried magnets on cabin walls on at least 4 HAL ships and no ne of the magnets held.

We take a combination of magnets and the 3M Command Strips. Never had a problem with magnets on the bulkheads (Princess, RCCL & CMV).
