Rare Keith1010 Posted December 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2009 I was just listening to a report about this on CNN. Glad to hear that it has been blocked. Never a good time for an strike but over the holidays was just terrible. Good news for everyone holding BA tickets. Keith
dougburns Posted December 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2009 I'm not sure an injunction, which is usually temporary, will hold. SS switched us to Continental and I'm not sure they would want to switch us back.
swindy Posted December 17, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2009 Well, I am extremely relieved as it looks like our outbound BA flights will be okay. However, the Inbound ones could be a totally different story!!!!
Host Dan Posted December 17, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 17, 2009 If this ends up like past events, don't be surprised if cabin crew all call in sick... Host Dan

dougburns Posted December 17, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 17, 2009 The SS folks seem to think that the strike is off for the holiday period and they are re-booking people on BA at no additional cost(if that's what you had before the strike announcement). We're going to wait till Monday to make a decision. The BA sched is much more convenient for us than the Continental one. I agree with Dan though. Quite often these types of actions result in sickouts and slowdowns.
DebbieH103 Posted December 17, 2009 #9 Share Posted December 17, 2009 I replied to this in the maiden thread, as I did not see this one. Doug, I sent you the rules about switching out. I received them in an email. You may want to check into it, there is a lot of info there, though I am unaffected and have not checked it out. unfathomable Posted December 18, 2009 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2009 I'm not sure an injunction, which is usually temporary, will hold.Yup, in the UK you can expect the injunction to hold. The union is already talking about organizing a re-ballot, but that will take weeks. According to today's news, many of those who voted for a strike were shocked when the union announced a 12-day strike. Who knows what that will do for the re-ballot.
