I can do just about anything workout wise but I do swell up a bit... Squats, lunges, deadlifts and cleans. Multi muscle use. Don't do all 4 on same day. Start with minimum or no weights and build very gradually once you have proper form and can do the movements easily. Proper form is essential here. Add a pilates class at least once a week twice is better. Also spin classes for the aerobic part of your plan. Day sequnece: spin, weights, pilates, spin, weights or pilates, spin, rest. CanWeGoYet? Posted July 24, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2010 Can you tolerate taking the stairs - at least going uphill? That or do calf raises - do reps standing on your toes either from flat, or for extra work let your heels drop down a bit from the edge of a stair tread and then stand on your toes. Hold for a minute and then slowly come back down.
INeedAMaiTai Posted May 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2011 Spinning has really changed my legs and bum! I hate it, but the sweat is good and I feel more toned. I also to a butt and thighs class at the gym that works all of the troubled areas. Getting an elastic pilates band and doing side steps really helps with the outer thighs. Hope this helps! Rare Keith1010 Posted May 30, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 30, 2011 Sorry to hear you don't like the spin classes. I started them last August and I think they are great. They give you a great workout. Keith

Keith I love the class; even go three times a week. I think I was just trying to say that it isn't easy and really kicks my butt. It's the only thing I have to yell at myself to get through.
