Captain's Club: Can't See Number of Credit online? Are you Serious?

I just joined Captain's Club and went online to verify that I did receive 2 cruise credit for sailing Concierge Class. Well, the number of credit cannot be seen on the website. I called Captain's Club to verify that I did receive 2 credits, and was also told that at this time cruise credit cannot be viewed online?

Are you serious? If X is trying to improve Captain's Club, let's first start with technology!

Other than that, X is my number one cruise line and I am so looking forward to my next cruise with them.

Hi,:) they have never had the amount of cruise credits listed on line.

So, yes, they are serious......technology?;) They have many folks

who work in Customer Service who have never stepped on a cruiseship

before and would not know AFT from Forward.

Best suggestion is to keep track of your cruises yourself:D

Yes, their "technology" is frustrating. I entered a Celebrity sweepstakes recently and it asked for my Captain's Club number. I logged in to My Celebrity and searched for 20 minutes in vain. I finally called and they confirmed that yes, you can't find your Captain's Club number anywhere online.

We don't cruise Celebrity for free drinks, laundry, internet, or anything but the relaxing conveyance to ports we wish to see. Recently, we forfeited a large sum of money to another line because Celebrity has gone to smoke free cabins. We thought the smoke free cabin (and DH enjoying the casino ....blush....) was a reason to spend more because of cash lost on another cruise.

What really irks me is Celebrity changing their minds about the tiers they count toward Elite Status, which means we were actually told we could not go into Sky Lounge at various times.

We have sailed Celebrity many times and have taken 15 to 17 day TransAtlantic Cruises, including Concierge Class cabins. However, the CLUB has decided many of our tier credits do not fit their criteria... Be that as it may, we will be Elite on the next cruise. But that will not, not ever be a factor in our deciding to book.

Frankly, if Princess will go to No Smoking Cabins we're with Princess. We've earned our "tiers" with them but that doesn't really factor in either. For us, it's all about the comfort level of getting to ports.

These were with Celebrity? You'd be Elite after the 5th TA regardless of stateroom...I'm clearly missing something...

You can view your CC number: go to "My Celebrity", click on "My Profile"; if you have entered your number previously, it will be there, on the 2nd line. But you have to have entered it yourself while filling out your profile.

I was thinking the exact same thing.....CC cabins AND 15 TA crossings?

They were elite a long time ago......

Thanks, it's good to know. Otherwise I can never find it.

I think they know what you mean. Cruise 12+ days count as 2 credits. So 5 12+ days cruises = 10 credits = elite.

Mathgeek,

That sounds right to me. However, check with Celebrity and you'll find "tiers" are all about the Dates you take the cruises.

Thanks for your clarification of the math.

I logged back on thinking I'd been too short in my post.

My apologies to Lois R, Txsloth, and all other posters. It frustrates me that Celebrity brochures don't always jive with current rules. Perhaps, I need to spend more time checking...

I believe Maris said she took a 15-17 DAY TA not that she took 15-17 TAs

Then I mis-read the post....it looks to me like the post says:

"We have sailed Celebrity many times and have taken 15 to 17 day TransAtlantic Cruises, including Concierge Class cabins."

Looks like plural to me....cruises....:)

Maybe only 2 cruises? One 15 day and one 17 day? Maybe I'm the one who is wrong ... sorry.

No need to be sorry:) I am guessing they are Elite though. But maybe

we are both wrong;)

We have taken a few 12-night cruises in the past with celebrity, before they made the "new" captains club. Do those cruises we took count 1 or 2 credits. ( we were not in CC class cabins or above):)

Were you a member of the previous club? In 2001 you had to pay to join. If you did not join, I would not think that you would get credit.

I'm curious as to what you meant when you said that many of your tier credits do not fit their criteria? In fact, I'm not sure what "tier credits" are, in the first place. Are they different than cruise credits? If not, I'm not sure what "Dates" have to do with it, unless you're referring to the number of days. In that case, it's a factor, but cabin class also enters into it.

For anyone unaware or confused about the subject-- to earn cruise credits on Celebrity (and Azamara), for sailings of less than 12 days, it's one credit for a sailing in veranda class or lower, two for concierge class or better. For sailings of 12 or more days, it's two credits for a sailing in veranda class or lower, three for concierge class or better. The dates of the sailing have no bearing, nor do the number of days over 12.

I mostly agree that Captain's Club status has little bearing on our cruise decisions, but we did take a CC when the price dropped, in part, so we could get that extra cruise credit. After we're elite, it won't be a factor, unless we hear they're about to unleash Super Duper Extra Special Elite, or whatever they might decide to call it.

PS-- I'll take you up on that drink!

If the cruises were taken before the Captain's Club credits were redefined, there would have been no extra credits for CC and above or length of cruise. There were no CC cabins in the earlier years of Celebrity Cruises. It seems to me the extra credits started in 2003.

Ah. Thank you. That likely explains it.

A couple of cruises ago I thought my DH and I should be coming up for Elite level so I phoned Celebrity in London and asked them when that great day would be. Within a few moments it was confirmed to me that we had now reached Elite level. So that is one way of finding out about that very good news.:)
