paul929207 Posted July 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2010 No kettle in cabins. In addition to room service, coffee and tea are available 24 hours at the buffet
fredman Posted July 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2010 Power to staterooms is limited as the power generated by the ship is made by diesel fueled generators. The less power draw from all the staterooms equal saved fuel and hence saved money. They also don't want kettles, irons etc in the staterooms because of fear of fires. Unfortunately, yup DH will have to get up and get you a cup of coffee or tea. :D
uppitycats Posted July 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2010 Room service is free, by the way. There'll be a hang tag in your room, where you can specify what you want and when, and usually it'll be delivered within 15 minutes of when yo specify -- so your husband wouldn't have to go out and get it! It is customary to tip the person who delivers room service. I usually tip $1-2 for morning coffee...more if I order a full breakfast....
maryann ns Posted July 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2010 We used the morning coffee delivery as a wake-up call on Azamara. They would phone first and arrive less than a minute later, and were always within a couple minutes of the requested time.

reallyitsmema Posted July 18, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2010 Yes, Indy does have kettles and tea in the cabins. RCL added them to all the cabins when they homeported it in the UK.

griffy116 Posted July 19, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 19, 2010 I would be very surprised. It would be nice, but I too use room service delivery of coffee as a wake up call. Works better than any alarm clock. They call and by the time you are out of bed and quick trip to bathroom, they are waiting. I tip $2 and fall out onto the balcony for a few sips before getting ready for the day.:p
