Esmerelda Posted August 2, 2010 #201 Share Posted August 2, 2010 Denice, I cannot thank you enough for all that you have written and your photos. My family had planned to sail on the Epic on 12/11/10. After reading many negative things and then a friend who is a TA sailing on it and confirming some issues, we knew it was not the ship for us. Since we both had that week off already (and it's hard to get a week off together), we decided to search for a different ship. Of course, I went straight to the Oasis! I am so psyched about our trip!! I read every post of your 'live' sailing and it was just awesome. I get just as excited about these things as you do! We would have had a great time sailing together. LOL It's not only wonderful that you captured all those great photos but then you added food porn to it as well! Holy cow batman!!!!.... That just makes it all the better. I hope your sailing in 2011 is just as fabulous. sending Denise a big CC hug...:) Esmerelda

tneah Posted August 2, 2010 #204 Share Posted August 2, 2010 Thanks for the great detailed info. I'm really excited even more so after looking the picrures. I just booked this cruise last week. Very last minute decision. The kids have no idea that we are cruising on the Oasis.:D They think we are going on the Liberty of the Seas out of POM. We just told them that since were so close to the Oasis maybe we can take a drive down to see if we can get a glimpse of the ship. 19 days to go! I noticed that Hairspray was also shown during the day. Do you think it would be better to see at night or day or does it not matter? Any details on Izumi (I know I have that wrong:confused:)? The kids are going to be blown away by this surprise!!! What a great last minute decision!! It does not matter when you see Hairspray...you will fall in love with the production regardless! What voices and energy!! You may want to see it twice!! I never went to Izumi (don't eat sushi or fish) but heard from many people on the ship that it was great! I just had to butt in. We were on the OASIS in Feburary and are returning this Oct. We are from Massachusetts, but are lucky enough to have a condo in Florida. Well anyway, my son usualy vacations in Florida in Feb and we take a 3/4 day cruise. Well.. looking for the cruise for last Feb, I decided on the Oasis. Even though it was a 7 day. I made the reservations told my son the price.(Of course we do a triple.) I also told him it was on the Liberty,(small world) he is an adult but I did keep the secret till the morning we were leaving to drive to Port Everglades, we are 40 mins away . He was soo excited. Wish I didn't tell him till we got there but I knew he would drive us so I had to tell him. I handed him the luggage tags. I had also told him we could go down to Port Everglades and see if we could get a picture. I know you will have a great time, this ship is AWESOME. I can't wait for Oct to see her again. Hope you have a great trip.
BethV114 Posted August 3, 2010 #207 Share Posted August 3, 2010 Can you tell me more about that, please? Were Diamond C&A invited, or just D+ and suite guests? I would love to go to something like this on Allure!:D

I would love to go to something like this on Allure!:D It was an invitation sent to the Diamond and Diamond plus members from the C and A. It was exceptionally cool because unlike on some other ships, this area is blocked to the public.
lawyerboy5555 Posted August 5, 2010 #209 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Love all the pictures. How did the menu in the Concierge Lounge work? Were there set hours for the menu? How long did it take to get the food once ordered?

dzboss1 Posted August 5, 2010 Author #211 Share Posted August 5, 2010 This is one of the menus. I am sure there were set hours, but whenever we were there, there was staff waiting to take our orders. It would take 5-10 minutes to get the food!

RenieRaider Posted August 27, 2010 #214 Share Posted August 27, 2010 Hi Renie!! I chose Oasis for 2 reasons. First is I am a creature of habit in many respects. I like things to feel familiar when I can control that, so I want to be back on the Oasis because I know "her". Second is since my daughter has never been on her, and is dying to experience what I did, I would rather be on something I know so well, to share that with her. I know the Allure is the sister ship, and so much will be similar, but it is the Oasis that I need to experience again, and with her. I would feel more comfortable. I totally know what you mean! My nephew got engaged on the FOS and then a year later they decided they wanted to get Married on her too! It was so nice for them and for ME to know the ship so well. We knew what to expect and it was even better the second time around! I bet you don't know WHAT'S more exciting...... being on her or that YOU'RE GOING BACK!!! funfamilyof6 Posted August 27, 2010 #215 Share Posted August 27, 2010 No I didn't...lol...but I do now!!!;) How do you get the pictures to go down and not line up sideways??? Maybe I'm just stupid but when I try to do more than one picture, the pictures line up sideways left to right and not north and south and the second picture always gets cut off. Pictures are beautiful...especially the donut entrance to the boardboard and the cupcake place. Kids would love this ship...can't afford it yet. Hope we will be able to afford it in 2 or 3 years for a graduation present for my oldest daughter. :) Thank you so much for all of your hard work with the review and your beautiful pictures!! SailorManBilly Posted July 27, 2011 #216 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Any pictures of your room and balcony? We have the same room on Allure and nobody seems to be posting pics of these bigger balconies on the Internet. Dying to see it and what the view is like! bluehorizonlover123 Posted October 3, 2011 #218 Share Posted October 3, 2011 I have pixs of the bigger balcony if you want to email me. But the balcony is very deep kind of reminds me of a horse stall. it is long and narrow. And all shaded. We still liked it but this location is very windy and you will hear the wind howling at night if you have the door open.
