D/D+ December Event AGAIN!!!!

Recommended Posts

We have the =X= Constellation booked for a 14 day Southern Caribbean beginning on Dec.4 and we also have booked a B2B2B2B (14 days total) on Radiance OTS from Dec.6, 2010. The double cruise credits might be the deciding factor, soooo I called C&A. Quess what? They don't have a clue as to whether we will get the extra credit on the Radiance. I was told that a supervisor will be in the office tomorrow who might have the answer. The C&A rep has the e-mail - posted by the OP - inhand, but does not know if the extra cruise credit only applies to the Allure bookings in December (as it was last year for the Oasis) or any fleet bookings. At least she was honest enough to say that she (and the rest of the office personnel) didn't know how to interpert the e-mail.

Six credits from the Radiance will get us to 50, which could be important if things are a-changing in January!

interesting. I truly did not intend on starting something by posting, I was just giving folks a heads up. I do have a suggestion, IF this year it is discounts/OBC/whatever on only certain sailings (like last year), be sure to keep a copy of the flyer that lists the specific sailings. We booked a cruise & 2 Next Cruises or "Why Not Decide Later" & fortunately I kept the flyer as several months later when I went to use the NC, the person at RCCL didn't know which cruises were part of the program., she did not have a flyer or list. I had to tell her and she checked (with who I don't know) and YES that sailing was part of it

should be interesting to see how this all works out.

Actually Patti, I was on that cruise with you. And we did get the perks for Diamond's in December. I booked this year's Mariner with a $300 obc and also booked Oasis with a $300 obc and reduced deposits on both. We also got commemorative diamond member pins, remember everyone was wearing them.

They also had signs when boarding the ship that said something like welcome Diamond's, special event. Or something like that.

Jim and I were talking about this today and he also remembers my conversation with C&A prior to leaving and asking about the December event and being told that it was for cruises that began and ended in December.

With the ability to combine two benefits effective June 1 and the max. OBC is now $200..........I wonder if they will increase it to a max. of $300 just for this December event? That would be nice.:)

If you'll remember, before the combining of benefits was reinstated on June 1, booking on board got you an max OBC of $300 for longer cruises no matter when you booked. When we transferred our Jewel booking from last year to this September our OBC was increased to $300.

A quote from the flier: "Diamond and Diamond Plus members will also receive one extra cruise credit when sailing on the month of December."

Now the question: if you take more than one cruise in December are you only going to receive one extra credit? Or will this be one extra credit per cruise?

The exception is the Brilliance ( 11/23/2010-12/5/2010) and Jewel (11/22/2010-12/3/2010) cruises that start in November and end in December. These two cruises, although they do sail on days in December, do not qualify.

Dont know for sure but maybe the exception is because of the number of sailing days those two cruises have in November as opposed to December.

Just a guess :p

Hi!

Thanks for the list, however the one I am wondering about is the Allure inaugural December 5th, I can't imagine that wouldn't be included in this list as well. On the Oasis inaugural last year, same date, December 5th, we received 2 credits and all the perks.

Time will tell I guess, I'm sure as it all get closer it will all be spelled out more clearly. We'll enjoy the inaugural just the same.:)

Happy sailings everyone.

Hey FO :D

The December 5th Allure Inaugural sailing will qualify for the extra credit. :D

What is concerning me is how on this flyer the Allure December 1st sailing is being called the Inaugural. If RCCL/CAS are calling it the Inaugural now what does that make the December 5th sailing? The second Inaugural

Do those who are going on the December 5th sailing still get the Inaugural momentos ????

Hey Capt!

Well, I feel better now knowing we will get 2 credits, just can't seem to find it anywhere in writing...ugh! On RCI's web site they still list the December 1st sailing as "Labadee Extravaganza", nothing is listed as the inaugural? Why can RCI get all their "oars" in the water at the same time and straightened this all out, it's not like they've never had done this before.

Well, I just called C&A and talked to a guy who actually knew what I was talking about and he stated that this will be BOTH the inaugural and the naming cruise on this December 5th sailing:D. Also perks will be ours as well...yippee!

Have a good day everyone!

I called, live chatted, and e-mailed that question to RCI. All three answers were the same. How's that for consistent?

Actually we sailed on Radiance last November 30th, and we did get the Diamond in December perks! :D

We also sailed last year where our 14 day B2B cruises started the last days of November, (the 29th) and into December.

We also received the December gifts for both weeks as Diamond members.

EDIT: No extra cruise credits of any kind.

Last year, the Diamonds in December offer didn't include an extra cruise credit, except for the first sailings of the Oasis. :)

Hello Everyone,

When I spoke with Mike in C&A today, he also mentioned that those doing the B2B, Labadee Extravaganza (12.1.10) and Oasis inaugural (12.5.10) will receive FOUR credits. Good for those doing both sailings.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.;)

Just received this e-mail from RCI

Question...

On the recently announced Diamonds in December cruises for 2010, the promotion states an extra cruise credit will be earned for Diamond and Diamond Plus members that sail in December. Is this one extra credit per cruise that sails in December, or one extra credit in total? For example, if I cruise on 4 different cruises, will I earn 4 extra cruise credits? Or is it limited to one extra for the entire month regardless of the number of cruises taken in December?

Answer...

Dear xxxx:

Thank you for your e-mail. An additional cruise credit will be accrued for each sailing that departs on or after December 1, 2010, until December 31, 2010. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our office directly at 1-800-526-9723.

xxxx, we look forward to welcoming you onboard again soon.

I sure hope Samatha knows what she's talking (or e-mailing) about. I talked to D+ desk this morning and the rep said that they have not been given any information re the "Diamonds in December" Promotion. However, she did say that her interpertation of the flyer would be the same as above, one extra for each cruise taken in December, on any ship in the fleet.

We have 4 cruised booked on Radiance in December and the 4 extras will get us to 50 - a potentially important # in January. Thanks EVALUATOR for this additional information.

When I look at the number I just wonder how over whelming that might be to the majority of cruisers out there if indeed that is the number they choose to up the anti. If I were just starting out with RCCL and seen that was the number of credits I needed to get to say D+ I would probably think to myself, "no way in my life time" might just as well jump on the ship next door. Not an incentive, but a turn off.

Very true. Right now we need 6 to reach D+and already have 2 booked which could put us there in a couple of more years. Changing that number to 50, well that won't happen in my lifetime. That would change it from 6 more to 32 more needed YIKES:eek::mad:
