Rare Keith1010 Posted August 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2010 If we need additional cash we can use a local ATM while in port. Keith
cb at sea Posted August 7, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2010 There are ATM's on the ship and in most ports. You should be fine with your $1000! Your cabin should have a safe (and if not, the purser's office has safe deposit boxes) and bringing cash is the easiest and cheapest way to access your cash! $1000 is only 10 one hundred dollar bills...easy to transport! You can get larger bills broken down on the ship as needed....No need to carry wads of smaller bills!
uppitycats Posted August 7, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2010 ATM's are everywhere, and certainly in any of the ports where cruise ships dock. We carry about $300 (US) cash each, and then use an ATM if we run out. No, the ship won't "front" you money, and allow you to pay at the end, but some ships do have ATM's too. Usually they cost quite a bit to withdraw money, though.

MedicKen Posted August 7, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2010 Some cruise lines will allow you to withdraw cash at the casino with a fee (ususally about 3%).
