CosmoLover Posted December 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2010 I was reading another thread and am worried that I have to change my flights. We are first time cruisers coming and leaving from Fort Lauderdale Airport (flying out of JFK-NY). The cruise ends on Monday morning at 7 am. We are scheduled to take an 11:45 am flight out of Ft. Lauderdale back to NY. Is that too early? Should we move it to an afternon flight??
caribsun Posted December 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2010 You should have plenty of time, when on board ask at the customer service desk for a early departure.
Tralynn Posted December 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2010 You should be fine. Just make sure that your departure is early.
wrp96 Posted December 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2010 Does your cruise end in Port Everglades? If yes, then you should be fine with an 11:45am flight.
cb at sea Posted December 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2010 Nope... From Pt. Everglades to Ft. Laud...is only about 15 mins....totally doable! You don't even need to do the 'self-carryoff' thing. Just tell them (midway thru the cruise) that you have an early flight. You'll be in one of the 1st groups off the ship. grand isle joe Posted December 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2010 Agree with c b at sea totally. We made a 10;15 easy so long as you inform the cruise line of your early flight. Wishing you a wonderful cruise.:)
Rare geoherb Posted December 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2010 The only thing to worry about is whether there are a lot of ships in port that morning. Our biggest delay was a record-setting day with 15 ships in port (Dec. 21, 2003). There weren't enough taxis for all the people. Fortunately for us, we arranged to stay an extra night in Fort Lauderdale and weren't in a hurry to leave the ship. Last March, our flight was 11 a.m. We had plenty of time.
