CanadaDeb Posted December 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Hi There, DH and I are wondering if the ship will have maps of the port cities available for us? I've been trying to find such maps online but can't seem to find any good ones. Thanks all!
seashinesunshine Posted December 29, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Hi There, DH and I are wondering if the ship will have maps of the port cities available for us? I've been trying to find such maps online but can't seem to find any good ones. Thanks all! My experience with carnival and rccl is yes, but they are very limited maps just the port areas, and they only highlight businesses that have paid to be on the map. kitty9 Posted December 29, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2010 What ship? The only maps they usually provide are shopping maps. Crystal usually brings on locals who provide detailed maps and information.
paul929207 Posted December 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Princess will supply a port guide for each stop. They are not the best. Check in the terminal as you clear the ship. They may have better maps
Rare 1025cruise Posted December 29, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2010 Any map of the port I ever received was of the places to go shop (who paid to be put on the map). Since I don't shop.....
ferfoodle Posted December 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2010 We were on the CB (Caribbean Princess) in 2008. The only maps they provided were shopping maps which were not helpful - well unless you are going shopping. Maybe try your local library - and photocopy if you find a good one. Colorado Kat Posted December 29, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I've always had good luck going to the "Ports of Call" area on this website, and searching for map info.
cb at sea Posted December 29, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2010 A guidebook will have maps of your ports, and lots of info that can save you a bundle, if you choose to do things on your own. Any bookstore will have guidebooks, and so do libraries!
janabm81 Posted December 30, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 30, 2010 check out the official tourism website of each port you're going to...they usually have maps to order from there...some are free or downloadable others you pay for the shipping cost. Travelcat2 Posted December 30, 2010 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Hi There, DH and I are wondering if the ship will have maps of the port cities available for us? I've been trying to find such maps online but can't seem to find any good ones. Thanks all! I may have misunderstand your post. . . . however, it sounds as if, in addition to maps of the port cities, you are not certain about which destination to choose. If you want to suggestions as to itineraries, I suggest anywhere except the Caribbean. Most Caribbean ports are so touristy that you may as well be in the United States In terms of maps of the ports, most ports have a port office where maps of the city are available.
