driving from orlando to fort lauderdale

hello guys we are booked on allure on the 30th october, but beforehand we are spending 4 nights in orlando, we have a hire car to drive up there but was just wondering if anybody on here knew the quickest route?

If you are in a car with 2 axles, your toll would be around $15.00

Depending on the time of the day I-95 from the West Palm area traffic can be pretty bad. Just did the turnpike on our cruise out of Miami on the 31st. Easy ride. Bill

If you want to avoid tolls get to I-95 as far north as you can. But I would take the turnpike.

$12-$15 can't remember exactly. You'd have to add at least two zeros to make I-95 look attractive.

 

My guess is that you aren't from the US or you'd know the reputation of I-95.

$15 if you get Sun Pass. more to pay cash ($2-3 more). if you are renting a car, it will cost anywhere from $2.50.day to $7 per day for this e-pass depending on rental company.

I don't travel the turnpike often nor I-95 but if it's anything like I-4, I think I'd be taking the turnpike hands down. I think we may be doing this for our cruise in 1.5 weeks!

Another vote for the turnpike, but if you want to save a few dollars and chance I-95, you can get on I-95 at Ft. Pierce. The turnpike and I-95 come next to each other at Ft. Pierce. Good luck whatever way you go, and have a great cruise.

This is what we have done several times. No traffic problems at all. Then it's a straight shot to FLL on the Turnpike. I think its worth it to get a Sun Pass if the cost is $2-3 . You still will get billed later for tolls, but you drive right pass the toll booths.

i must thank you all for you input on this, i have decided to take the turnpike as it seems the most stress free way to get there :)
