mbava138 Posted February 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I booked a balcony cabin do they offer any vip check in or does everyone go through the same line?
njhorseman Posted February 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2011 Balcony passengers are not VIPs (Unless they are VIPs for some other reason). In some ports there may be a separate check in line for balcony passengers, but it may be no shorter than any other line.
Got Tequila? Posted February 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I booked a balcony cabin do they offer any vip check in or does everyone go through the same line? VIP's are typically those guests staying in full suites. Guests of Casino at Sea are also considered "Casino VIP's" and may have a seperate area/line. njhorseman Posted February 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I know through carnival the got vip embak. Didnt know if ncl did it. Not on any Carnival cruise I've been on. The only VIP embarkation we've gotten on Carnival is when we booked a suite. It's also possible they give VIP embarkation to frequent cruisers who have more than a specified number of cruises with Carnival.

njhorseman Posted February 22, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I thought repeat cruisers(Lattitude Members) can use VIP check in? They can use the Latitudes check in, which believe me, is not the same as VIP check in. VIP check in is for suites, certain casino customers and selected VIPs. There are so many repeat cruisers that the Latitudes line can easily be longer than other lines. Gold and Platinum Latitudes members, at least in some ports, may have a separate line, which is usually shorter.
roger001 Posted February 22, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I thought repeat cruisers(Lattitude Members) can use VIP check in? For other than true suite pax and their personalized check in, Latitude member or otherwise, I've never really ever seen one line much quicker than the other. In fact, the non Latitude line is frequently the shortest and fastest. Facilitators working the check in line do a pretty good job of moving persons at the best pace. zerooveride Posted February 22, 2011 #21 Share Posted February 22, 2011 To get back on topic, does that mean there is a Latitudes line and a separate VIP line for Suite Guests? I am sailing out of NYC and I only remember 2 lines but this time I will be both Latitudes and a Suite Guest and this really interests me.

Normally there will be a Latitudes line and a Suite/Vip line. The Suite line will be BY FAR your best bet (and your perks will start in it-snack area, escorted boarding etc). As others have said, sometimes the Latitudes line is as long as the regular line.

Since you are sailing out of NYC, you'll be escorted to the VIP lounge waiting area when you arrive (assuming you're in a full suite). Then, a member of the Concierge or Butler staff will escort you on board ahead of everyone else when the ship has been cleared to board.
Rare Got2Cruise Posted February 22, 2011 #25 Share Posted February 22, 2011 That's only if you get there very early. One time hubby and I were regular pax, and were the first two to walk onto the ship, they told us.:) Our check-in was fast, I guess, and we were one of the first to check in because we got to the NYC pier early, and we are lattitude members. The ladies who run the lines in NYC don't play games:D. Don't try to cut the line, it is impossible. lol Since you are sailing out of NYC, you'll be escorted to the VIP lounge waiting area when you arrive (assuming you're in a full suite).
