ariawoman Posted May 31, 2011 #26 Share Posted May 31, 2011 I have a question regarding the cabins on the slant. Does the room configuration lose anything due to the slant of the room? Any less furniture or any negatives against the cabin due to the slant? Just curious. I've stayed in a cabin on the slant on HAL, and the room was normal except it didn't have a couch it just had a small table and a chair.

artvlay Posted June 1, 2011 #28 Share Posted June 1, 2011 Somewhere I read that cabins 8259 to 8277 have an obstructed view. What is the obstruction?
FortyNinerLiz Posted July 16, 2011 #29 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Is the balcony for 9298 larger?
DocJohnB Posted July 16, 2011 #30 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Is the balcony for 9298 larger? It is bigger than the standard veranda . . . probably double. The width is the same, but the veranda is deeper.
reneemor Posted July 16, 2011 #31 Share Posted July 16, 2011 There is no mention of the cabins 7305 and 7307 and their respective cabins on other floors and starboard sides. These cabins are larger also??? But maybe not triple or double?
Bridge Maven Posted July 16, 2011 #32 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Does anyone know about the balcony size of 7247 (hump) on Solstice Class ships?
LKN-NC Posted July 17, 2011 #33 Share Posted July 17, 2011 7247 is not as large as 7241 & 7245. The 1st and 3rd balconies counting away from the hump are the largest; the 2nd and 4th are not quite as large but still huge. A general rule of thumb is that the 1As are all extra large balconies. boogs Posted July 17, 2011 #34 Share Posted July 17, 2011 someone took some great pictures of these slanted balconies and posted them here: Great photos showing the balcony sizes. But it makes me wonder what the hallway arrangement inside is like with the 10ft or so offset between the last stateroom on the hump and the first angled balcony. Is there an open area in the hallway, or does it jog over the equivalent number of feet?

All the Staterooms are the same size inside... it is the hallway that jogs to correspond to "the hump / bump"... ONLY the Verandas are deeper. Cheers! The deck plans make it look like a larger space there. We've booked room 1073, which is the last on the hump before the angled balconies (a larger balcony is less important to us than unobstructed views forward and aft) and were curious if there was a storage room or other potential source of noise located in the apparent space. Is there an open area in the hallway, or does it jog over the equivalent number of feet? Hi There- For some reason I am unable to view a photo from your website. Can you or anyone on CC post a photo of Room 6303 (Silouhette) Celebriy? It's a partial obstructed category 2C room. I'm curious to the larger balcony. Anyone? Thank you kindly! 6andy6 Posted May 2, 2013 #38 Share Posted May 2, 2013 That was an OLD/ERRONEOUS version of a copy/paste. Deck 8 was wrong. Here is the corrected version. Resort Deck: 2105, 2109, 2106, 2110 Penthouse Deck: 1547, 1552, 1601, 1605, 1606, 1610 Sky Deck: 1075, 1044, 1231, 1243, 1247, 1108, 1120, 1124 Panorama Deck: 9155, 9192, 9209, 9215, 9237, 9241, 9266, 9270, 9292, 9296 Vista Deck: 8197, 8160, 8257, 8253, 8279, 8283, 8226, 8230, 8252, 8256 Sunrise Deck: 7159, 7206, 7215, 7219, 7241, 7245, 7260, 7264, 7286, 7290 Continental Deck: 6155, 6156, 6209, 6215, 6237, 6241, 6210, 6214, 6236, 6240 Even this is incorrect so check a deck plan. Missing is our cabin on Vista - 8228- which is between 8226 and 8230. 8228 balcony is bigger than 8226 and smaller than 8230.
TonjaLuvsTravel Posted May 2, 2013 #39 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Okay. Thanks. I believe our room will have a larger balcony. Hoping someone had a photo out there. Thanks though!
Rare Lois R Posted May 2, 2013 #40 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Hi There-For some reason I am unable to view a photo from your website. Can you or anyone on CC post a photo of Room 6303 (Silouhette) Celebriy? It's a partial obstructed category 2C room. I'm curious to the larger balcony. Anyone? Thank you kindly! Hi, I was in 6303 on Eclipse. I don't have a photo (sorry) the cabin is aft on the ship and yes the balcony is a bit larger. Just so you know below the balcony is the top of the specialty restaurant. So you cannot see down to the water. It didn't matter to me though. Also, it is totally covered so if you looking for "not so much" cover, this may not be the cabin for you. I liked it though:)
TonjaLuvsTravel Posted May 2, 2013 #41 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Thank you so much! Did you feel like the room was dark? (As though the balcony was in a tunnel?) I wonder how similiar the Eclipse is to the Silhouette? Thanks for your help!
Rare Lois R Posted May 2, 2013 #42 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Thank you so much!Did you feel like the room was dark? (As though the balcony was in a tunnel?) I wonder how similiar the Eclipse is to the Silhouette? Thanks for your help! Nope, I felt fine:).....no tunnel feeling. (Not that I can recall anyway). I had the cabin back in 2009 so it has been a few years. It was shady out on the balcony (which was ok with me). And no, I didn't feel like the cabin was dark. Eclipse and Silhouette are sister ships....of course there are changes on Silhouette...Lawn Club Grille is in the spot where the Glass show is on Eclipse. The Porch is on Silhouette, not on Eclipse...... I think the cabins would be the same though.

tteettimes Posted December 12, 2013 #44 Share Posted December 12, 2013 just looked at Eclipse deck plan.......1073 appears to be standard size balcony--not a large balcony.....the adjacent cabin on the hump side does have a large balcony To quote our famous "Andy"-------"I hope this helps" :)
Just the two of us Posted December 14, 2013 #45 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Click on the post # 25 top right and you can print only this. Hi I copied this from another post as i found the information very helpful. personally LOVED my C1 hump cabin #1243 - about triple the size of a standard balcony - it was HUGE!!!!! Literally the largest non-suite balcony on the ship! The balcony was great for hosting cocktail parties - we had 25+ people out there one day! Being on the aft part of the hump there was virtually no wind issue to deal with. We got sun when we wanted it, and shade if desired as well. Due to balcony depth there were no privacy issues related to the angled shape. There are 58 +/- cabins with the same size balcony we had - they are: Resort Deck: 2105, 2109, 2106, 2110 Penthouse Deck: 1547, 1552, 1601, 1605, 1606, 1610 Sky Deck: 1075, 1044, 1231, 1243, 1247, 1108, 1120, 1124 Panorama Deck: 9155, 9192, 9209, 9215, 9237, 9241, 9266, 9270, 9292, 9296 Vista Deck: 8197, 8160, 8257, 8253, 8279, 8283, 8226, 8230, 8252, 8256 Sunrise Deck: 7159, 7206, 7215, 7219, 7241, 7245, 7260, 7264, 7286, 7290 Continental Deck: 6155, 6156, 6209, 6215, 6237, 6241, 6210, 6214, 6236, 6240 Most of these are on the hump, but some are forward where the ship starts to indent. The rooms run the range from Category 2C, 1A, C1, or AQ (with the exception of 6209/6210 which are categorized as 07 Obstucted Balcony - great balcony at a small price!). There are also many cabins adjacent to the ones I listed that also have oversized balconies that are about double the size of normal ones, but I would go for the triple sized ones first Does anyone know why 1608 is not included in the larger balcony list? Rare Turtles06 Posted December 14, 2013 #46 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Does anyone know why 1608 is not included in the larger balcony list? Because, as the poster says in her post (in the last line you have quoted), the list is only of the largest balconies (the first and third off the straight part of the hump), and not of the second largest, the ones next to them (the second and fourth cabins off the hump). 1608 falls in the latter category; it's larger than a normal balcony, but not the very largest. (In other words, this is not a complete list of all the S-class cabins with oversized balconies.) Hope that helps.
