Room Key?

I will be sailing on my first cruise on 5/28, the Jewel to the Bahamas. Does anyone have any ideas on a good place to keep my room key while I am in the pool.:D

Stick it in your small beach bag or into the pages of your book. You'll want to have some sort of "tote" for your book, sunscreen, etc.... If you want to take it in the pool with you (although, I don't see why you'd need to), it's plastic...water won't hurt it.

Being a male, I have a pocket in my bathing suit and that's were I keep my card.

I carry a beach bag to the pool with me and in it I have everything I need for a few hours away from my cabin....key, sunscreen, sun visor, book, chap stick, etc.

If you are real concerned about leaving your key while in the pool you can buy a waterproof wallet. These are good when you are on the beach too.

Option .. get a hole punched in your card and use a safety pin.

 

Water won't hurt it.

The room keys are also your shipboard account card. In my experience, they have your name and cruise status (first timer, Gold, platinum etc or whatever tier name your company uses) but not your cabin number. I keep mine in a purse inside my tote bag which I zip up and have never had a problem in all our 28 cruises.

No key card should have a room number as well as guest name on it.

 

Most cards have guest name, level of cruise experience with the cruise line indicated and life boat station. There may be other information such as dining time/table number but they should never have cabin number on it........ duh!!!!! If lost and found, anyone could enter your cabin.

 

The last time we sailed Princess, I was very upset to find they had that information on our card and I objected strongly to having my name and cabin number printed on our key card. Another one of a list of reasons we stopped sailing Princess. Do they still do that?

No, your cabin number is no longer printed on your sail and sign card (and hasn't been in quite some time). Just your name, number of Princess cruises, voyage number and dining table assignment now. ;)
