Starrgazer50 Posted May 19, 2011 #26 Share Posted May 19, 2011 Hey CruiseAdict218 If you are a gambler, I don't think Pride of America has a casino... Someone correct me if I am wrong... I know ships that sell in American waters does not have any gambling... You are correct. The Pride of America does not have a casino because it does not sail out to Internatioanl waters so gambling would be illegal. Per NCL Rep. CruiseAdict218 Posted May 19, 2011 Author #29 Share Posted May 19, 2011 I'm not even old enough to gamble, lol but still the PoA is an interesting ship one of akind and I see not a lot of Jade fans? And to those who sailed on the Weekend cruises the 2 - Specificly what are your experiences with tht?
buckirj1 Posted May 19, 2011 #30 Share Posted May 19, 2011 I loved the Spirit. I'd also like to try the Star and Sun if they were to sail to NE/Canada, but the Gem will probably be next.

Why Knot Me Posted May 19, 2011 #33 Share Posted May 19, 2011 Love the Epic. It's our favorite. Our last two cruises were on her. This summer we will be on the Pearl and next March a back to back on the Star. It will be interesting to go back to the smaller ships.
fiftyguy Posted May 19, 2011 #34 Share Posted May 19, 2011 For me it's the Dawn with the Spirit second. I do have to give a shout out to the Majesty. I know she's no longer with NCL, but she was my first cruise. I loved her size and old world charm. Thanks to her I'm loving cruising.
gulati Posted May 19, 2011 #35 Share Posted May 19, 2011 We were getting bored with the Dawn, but after the Gem (not bad at all), we miss the Dawn (esp Cafe and Spa). Of course the ship we really miss is the Crown, which was our first. I guess you always fondly remember your first! Andy
newmexicoNita Posted May 19, 2011 #36 Share Posted May 19, 2011 If you have a favorite ship between the ones in the fleet right now, I'd be happy to hear, lol. I don't have a favorite since I never sailed with NCL before but this would be the next cruise line I would like to try out I would have to vote for the SUn. I don't know exactly why, but their cabins are a little larger and they were the first truely "freestyle" ship we sailed on. Plus they are the only ship with Las Rambles even though there is not Blue Lagoon. We used to love BLue Lagoon, now we only eat there, maybe once or twice on each cruise. newmexicoNita Posted May 19, 2011 #38 Share Posted May 19, 2011 The Jewel. Though the Sun runs a close second People from the same part of the country must think alike: I woud choose the same two but visa versa. As I said the Sun is just special to me, but we love the Jewel. Nita
mablinki Posted May 19, 2011 #39 Share Posted May 19, 2011 I've been on the Norway, Pearl, Jewel, Gem, Spirit and Dawn. My favorite and sentimental was Norway. What huge cabins they had!! Then it would be followed by the Spirit and Pearl. But boy do I miss the Norway! She was the grandest!
maxciocc Posted May 19, 2011 #40 Share Posted May 19, 2011 Even though we have only been on one cruise, I would choose the Pearl in a heartbeat. We loved the staff, HD, Guest Services officer and we thought Captain Lars was great. He has the driest sense of humor. I check the Pearl's webcam every day. I am so hooked!!!!! Rare mitsugirly Posted May 19, 2011 #44 Share Posted May 19, 2011 Although I consider myself lucky and blessed to be on ANY NCL ship...I can't imagine anything beating the Epic with the food choices, entertainment, water slides and so on. However, I will settle for any cruise that is away from home and work. :D
STARFISH*4 Posted May 19, 2011 #45 Share Posted May 19, 2011 the STAR* before dry-dock changes last year, now its just really any NCL ship i can be sailing on...coming up on our 4th sailing on the SUN and already have it booked next year for 2 more so maybe the SUN! Rare Sherry84 Posted May 19, 2011 #46 Share Posted May 19, 2011 So far for me it's the Epic. I wouldn't hesitate to sail on her again. I had so much fun being on that ship it was like being a kid again! :)
CruiseAdict218 Posted May 20, 2011 Author #47 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Now for all you Epic fans do u think her exterior design is ugly like other people have said? Rare mitsugirly Posted May 20, 2011 #50 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Now for all you Epic fans do u think her exterior design is ugly like other people have said? At first I thought it was just plain weird but its actually pretty unique and I like it Nope, I didn't think it was ugly at all with the "hat" design. It set her aside from all the other ships. When we were in port, you knew it! :D Very unique and out of the ordinary...just like I like it. (Although I heard the new ships will go back to the regular look and there will never be another "type" like the Epic) :( When the two new ships come out, anyone gonna book them? I'm curious to know what there names are going to be YES! I was probably the biggest stalker out there when they were building the Epic and doing the trial runs. I would stay up until 4am or longer if needed, just to catch a glimpse of her going by one of the cams and I would take a print screen picture and post for our (NESS) group to see if they missed it. We stalked her doing circles and seen her even do a heart shape out in the water for us (yep, I have the picture of that as well) :D I will DEFINITELY be booking the 2 new ships. Until then, I'm on the Spirit this year and whatever happens to be in Bermuda next year.
