B2b ?

I have never done a B2B but have cruised a few time, I am going on Carnival Miracle in Jan/2012, I will be in a suite(1st one),my questions are as follows:

1) where we do not get of the ship can I take 4 bottles of wine on and give them 2 to hold until the 8 day ?

2) if we buy something in the line of liquer at the shop on the ship on the first half will we get it on the secong half?

3) can I get dry cleaning done on the ship e.g. shirts and shorts for Husband ?

we will be in Fll area 5 days before the cruise then 2 day cruise then 8 day cruise , with the $$ of extra luggage I can pack light and dry clean, I am sure I can dry clean at our Hotel before the cruise,

Thanks

Some people showed their two boarding passes and were allowed to bring on wine for both legs .. some had it held until the last night of the first leg. No one answer here.

You will get off briefly, into the port to hand in your customs (feels funny without any luggage) and you should be escorted as a group off and right back on the ship on turnaround day. You will be a letter to meet around 10 to 10:30 am for all the B2Bers.

We got a small gift on both my B2Bs.

We just did our 1st B2B on the Miracle last April/May.

You will love it especially if you have the same cabin.

We took 2 bottles of wine each with no problems.

We wante to purchase from the duty free shop but were told it would be given back at the end of the B2B. Since we had other persons with us that were NOT doing the B2B, we had them purchase for us =) They were given the purchase the last night then gave it to us.

Not sure about the dry cleaning

Our embark/disembark was Ft Lauderdale on the Miracle.

We were given instructions to meet in the lobby at 10am for our 2nd leg check in. They took our sail/sign cards before we got off the ship then escorted us off the ship to the check in desk. No customs until we got off the ship after the 2nd leg. Very simple and fast.

If you want to go out and about, you will board with all the new pax. We went straight back on the ship to do our laundry while it was quiet.

We also wanted a new embarkation photo and were told to go do that after 1pm.

Nice gift in our cabin for doing the B2B as well.

Have a great time

I had no problems getting my liquor the last night on the first leg I purchased the first day.

If you are in doubt, wait until the last afternoon night and purchase it in the shops and you can take it back to your cabin. easy that way. I purchased it the first day because they were running out of the tequila I wanted.

laundry is $3 to wash and $3 to dry in the laundry room. I too have heard no dry cleaning, but dont have any back up, just what I read on CC.

There is sometimes a $15 wash n fold special mid week as well, but not dry cleaning with that.

I had a couple of outfits sent down for dry cleaning last December on the Fascination because we were catching a plane at the end of cruise for Christmas...So, unless something has changed in the last 6-7 months, they do offer that service and it came back in the same day. We are actually doing a B2B in Dec. & I am planning on using that service again for some things.

Hope that helps!

If you get off on your turnaround day, be sure to get a transit pass from Guest Services, so you bypass the checkin lines when reboarding. Just follow the crew. You still have to put any stuff you have through security. EM

Thanks for all the info I am doing a B2B as well, on the Sensation in December.

That will make my 8th and 9th cruise. I am SO tempted to make it a B2B2B to save on airfare, and, of course it will make me Platinum before they change the requirements next year.

I have the same room for the first two, will have to change for the 3rd.

Hey Melanie,

Right after we booked our B2B, I read somewhere on here(meaning CC) that the pursers will move and/or help you move your stuff to your new room if possible.

I never caught if CCL made decision on the changes for Platinum or not. Was there an announcement somewhere (please share if so) about what changes would be made and when.

I have several friends that are close and we just booked a short repo next April from home port to help their cause.

I had two different cabins both times and the 2nd time I made sure to ask for help as I got no help the first time .. I asked 3 times if they could at least provide me with a cart, sure sure.. nope, nadda. On CC I was told well duh, had you provided a $20 bill they would have helped.

So twice I did B2Bs and neither time when I changed cabins did I get any help, so I had to do it by myself because pax #2 was HC. Dont count on it.

I think John Heald said it would be early next year before the requirements change. I have no idea on what date it will be.

The more I think about it, makes my decision to call my PVP in the morning and put a deposit down for my 3rd leg.

I was going to do it in Feb. or March, but knowing my luck, the Platinum requirements will change.

Thanks for the pro and con info on Stewards moving luggage...if i have to, I'll haul it all with me.

OK, I searched John Heald's posting and came up with this...

Well please allow me to start by addressing your final point and that is that absolutely we do appreciate the loyalty of our past guests and most definitely we acknowledge those who have cruised with us 25 time or more and are therefore holders of the Milestone card. People here are bored with me saying this and somewhat frustrated as well but there will be a new loyalty program introduced early next year and there will be changes that I know everyone will appreciate, especially those like yourself whose loyalty has been outstanding.

That was his answer to the snooty person who thought it was beneath her to dine with lowly first cruisers. After all, SHE is milestone!

Thanks for taking time and posting this.

We have only ever taken 1 4 day sailing and the rest are 7, 8 & 12. I hope that this next short one will still count as we are heading toward our milestone. Oh does that mean I get to be snooty =) I laugh about that.

Oh just a FYI we had booked the same cabin for our B2B both sailing that had the interior connecting door so we would have that and the balcony door connecting with DD/SIL. 1st leg we had so many noise issues in one wall that we made our complaints to the purser. After several depart heads witnessed the noise, they offered us a cabin down the hall for the 2nd leg. Therefor we had to move. It was a pain but our steward was really great helping us. I left the hanging clothes in the closet while we went to check in for 2nd leg. He made sure they were all transfered to the new room. Of course he was really good and I found out from his boss, that is always ranks in the top 10 of ALL CCL stewards.

Thanks for the info on the pass to make it easier for me to board...

Here is the snooty woman's question on John Heald's blog..

As a Milestone cruiser I should not have to attend the same party as those beneath me with gold and platinum cards. There should be a different party and different gifts and amenities for people like me. I have now done 25 cruises and was so angry to discover that apart from a discount on the cruise everything else is the same. Why do you not seat Milestone guests together at dinner because I was on the Elation and was seated with first time cruisers which was so embarrassing for me! Milestone guests are not treated any better than Platinum and that makes me think you do not appreciate us.

Melanie

A good gift for her is a pint of Vodka she could use as an enema to kill the bug up her A$$,.

ROFLAO at that one Melanie.

I love all the new sailors. It is so much fun to watch them be so blown away on first cruise.

I wonder what her experience is standing in the VIP line at the pursers with all those that do not know what its all about yelling at her. Now I would pay big bucks to see that.

Well, I DID IT!! I am now dancing the Platinum Dance.

I booked through Delta Cruises, as I get double miles, since I booked a Balcony.

For all you non-smokers, I purposely booked as far Aft as I can get, so the smoke will blow behind the ship. My favorite spot, anyway.

Trouble is, my 'dance partner' (luggage tags and boarding pass) cant keep up with me. They don't say VIP on them.

I know, it's such an insignificant thing, but , still.

As soon as I hear anything about the changes to the Platinum or Milestone program, I will post it,.

Thank you, thank you. Only another cruiser would know the feeling.

At last the Carnival Web site has updated on my computer, it shows all my past cruises, where before it didn't.

I am planning on taking proof anyway (the printout of past cruises, and my sign and sail cards) to show I am close, when I am on the 9th cruise.

After all, I HAVE to have the Funship Freddy Frame. I shall use it to scare the mice away.

My wife and I are early on in the cruise game, but enjoy it very much and do see ourselves reaching some of the frequent cruiser points.Where can we find a link, list, thread that states the current VIP points and they requirements and any purposed changes to those particular points.
