Captain Gus Left late last summer/early fall to go to Quantum and had been assigned to Enchantment since the middle of it's tenure in Baltimore, so yes that could have been him - as it sounds more like him than Capt. McDuff.

That was definitely Captain Gus, although I think something different when I think of horn. I was on one of his last cruises out of Baltimore which included Super Bowl Sunday. He had a great skit with the CD where he said he had to play in the band, picked up the trumped, and blasted out a lovely "When the Saints Go Marching In" in honor of host city New Orleans.

yes, MJ has 2 new captains (though Standahl was with RCI before and has only been gone for 3-4 years) and I will post Rune's new ship when it happens.

He is a great and friendly captain. Good for him to be one of the Harmony captains.

Hello. We will be sailing on the Allure leaving November 8. Any idea if Captain Johnny Faevelin may be in charge that week? Really hoping so. We really like him--one of the biggest factors in choosing which cruise to go on

But as he will start on Harmony not before June next year he will come back to Allure for one or two rotations. In November he will be in charge on Allure.

I don't know when Cpt Johnny's last rotation will be on Allure. I guess I should show him in the 2 slots. I was trying to avoid the inevitable question of why he's showing on 2 ships.

Thank you guys for helping me out. I had received a message from Captain Johnny several months ago--probably before he knew he would be on duty in November. I can hope he will still be there on November 8. He is such a joy to have on board and I'm sure my husband and I will sail on the Harmony n the future--maybe late next year. We don't cruise in the summer--more expensive and more children.

I can think of no reason that the rotation schedule of captains (or any other crew member) should follow the rotation schedule of cruises for passengers.

With few exeptions the Captain's schedule does indeed follow the turn around days for guests and this applies for all cruise lines. One reason is that the Captain is also the host.

Interesting. However I have seen captains come aboard mid cruise several times and often crew. Two captains rotate with each other and can arrange between themselves to vary their schedule to accommodate things at home. what you say may be true "normally".

yes, Capt Henrik is in Europe for a 2 week meeting. Capt Pero is probably the staff captain filling in. I'm told Capt Henrik will be back to finish out his rotation. I have a note that Capt Kasselas returns Sept 27.
