wolfatlga Posted August 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2011 We are thinking of booking the Aqua Trax Adventure, so I was concerned about where to store money if we bring any. Do we need cash, or just our sea pass card to purchase items on the island? Thanks.. Wolf

English_in_Spain Posted August 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Everything on HMC is charged to your sea pass card except any purchases at the small straw market type stalls. Unless you are planning on buying souvenirs there you do not need to take any cash.

Rare kazu Posted August 4, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2011 I'd take a little bit in case you want to buy something at their 'market'. You just never know. Otherwise no worries:) Your room key will take care of everything.
AZNative2000 Posted August 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2011 ... no cash required! This is true but there may be a time when you wish you'd brought a couple bucks for a tip.;)

kyriecat Posted August 4, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2011 How do you put a tip on your card? I always assumed that we couldn't do that so brought cash. For example, if I wanted to tip the cabana guy or an excursion guide, do you hand them your card and tell them how much to add for their tip? Krazy Kruizers Posted August 4, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Take some ones and fives. The vendors only take cash. And you may want to tip your tour guide.

Sorry, I was just thinking about bar waiters. $$$ would be needed for other tips but we never do tours or rent a cabana on HMC.
catl331 Posted August 4, 2011 #11 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Sorry, I was just thinking about bar waiters. OK, how do you put that on the room card? There's no way I know of to add it to the charge slip.
SJSULIBRARIAN Posted August 4, 2011 #12 Share Posted August 4, 2011 I believe the usual 15% tip is added to the bar tabs at HMC just as if you were at a bar aboard the ship.
Boytjie Posted August 4, 2011 #13 Share Posted August 4, 2011 OK, how do you put that on the room card? There's no way I know of to add it to the charge slip. IIRC there is a line on the slip to add tips. maybe I am thing of the last cruise which was on NCL's Pride of America.

kyriecat Posted August 4, 2011 #15 Share Posted August 4, 2011 I know on Royal Caribbean the bar slip has a place to add an additional tip amount (besides the included 15%) that will be charged to your onboard account. I don't remember seeing that additional tip line when I was on HAL.
sparky-elpaso Posted August 4, 2011 #16 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Of course, but I'm talking about a tip, not the 15% service charge. The service charge is technically the tip. You can always write in an extra amount if you want to.
CCKelly Posted August 4, 2011 #17 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Regarding HMC, if we were to take a tour (maybe the AquaTrax), are there lockers for rent to leave personal items? If so, how big are the lockers?
HamburgAvonLady Posted August 6, 2011 #18 Share Posted August 6, 2011 I don't know about lockers but I saw these neat metal "lockable safes" at Bed, Bath and Beyond with a steel cable attached that could be secured around anything stationary like a tree or even attached to a lounge chair. Big enough for camera, money, any other valuables you want to take. This was actually something college kids could use to secure valuables in their dorm rooms. If you are taking a cruise with alot of beach time --- might want to check them out. A couple of different sizes.
