Just back from Carribean Princess

Food was typical cruise fare. Above average, no complaints - we had great wait staff all week with only one bad night. We went with both specialty restaurants, and thry were excellent. Crowds were pretty bad at the shows and the pool. We did the sanctuary - never though I'd say it, but that's the best $$ you can spend. We ended up with an extra sea day because we missed SJ due to storm.....Many chairs occupied only by towels.....

Were the staff ticketing chairs? I have heard that they have started to do this on some other ships.:)

Did not see any "chair ticketing". The Circle party was in the Atrium. The staff were exceptionally friendly - everyone was extremely courteous this trip - looked like training paid off...also, kids were generally well behaved - nice surprise - drunk adults bothered us more, but that goes with the territory.....

Horizon Court had a bistro 11 pm - 4 am. International Cafe was open until at least 1 a.m. Best nights for Sabatinis and Crown Grill (my opinion) are nights 3, 6 and 8. Not a big carribean food fan (nt 3), and the italian night was rather weak (nt 6). The specialty restaruants were crowded....

at each port was down by the Medical Facility (4th floor). If you don't have to be off the ship right away, wait 30-45 minutes. You can walk right off, no problem, no headaches, no millions of people waiting on shore excursions (think Soylent Green)....this worked well for us, and getting taxis, etc. was never a problem at any of the ports. If you have a shore excursion, of course, you may have no option.

Can you tell me where the casino is located? Thanks, Catherine

It's on Deck 7 midship just in front of some of the shops in the atrium area. My DH enjoys playing craps and spent time in the casino each evening. His only comment was that it would get very warm inside as it got more crowded in the evenings.

did not hear anything about that kind of terriible crime reported on that board. I can confirm that the casino is terribly hot. When I asked if they could turn up the A/C, casino staff said they had no control over it. Cigarette smoke is bad in there too. I would change out of formal clothes into shorts and t-shirt. If you do play craps, keep an eye on your money - they make lots of mistakes!

Was the Captain's Circle party in the Atrium or in a theatre/lounge?

I beg to differ... the Champagne Waterfall was in the Piazza. The Captain's Circle party was in Club Fusion. They had two parties.

Also, they definitely had signs posted around the pool that reserving chairs was prohibited. My son's friend said that the staff was removing stuff from chairs because he witnessed a local couple yelling at some folks because their stuff had been removed. He intervened and said that the deck attendant removed their stuff and they quickly apologized...

all I can tell you is what we saw. Lots of empty chairs, lots of the time. One anecdotal third-hand observation won't change what we saw all week. We heard people complaining all the time about this.....you are correct about the party locations.....

I just saw this on another thread...did you happen to hear anything about it?

http://www.cruisejunkie.com/events.html

I was on this cruise and posted my comments on the other thread. The woman taken off the ship in Bermuda for medical treatment was an older woman and she did return to the ship by ambulance before we left Bermuda. I personally watched her leave the ambulance and get back on the ship. I did not hear anything about the incident in the link and have no idea whether it's true or not.

I can tell you that some of the rudest people in the world were on this ship and in my opinion Princess staff were afraid to deal with them or confront their behavior.

I did meet lots of great people from our CC roll call.
