Newbie Cruiser with Royal Caribbean

Hi All,

 

I have been on one previous cruise over 20 years ago. I am booked to travel in the spring. I was surprised to see that the cruises even charge now for pop & water. I don't recall paying for these the first time. :confused:

 

My question is do you have to pay for pop & water at meal times & when you are around the pool or is this just the cost of these items in your room?

 

Secondly can I get an approximate cost on the beer & cocktails & wine.

Water is plentiful and everywhere. It comes out of the tap, no charge.

Hi there and welcome. There are some beverages included in the cost of your cruise fare. These include: iced water, iced tea, lemonade, milk, coffee and tea, some juices at breakfast (but not fresh-squeezed), and some ships now offer flavored waters. The ones not included are soda, alcoholic beverages of any kind, juice, and specialty coffees. Also, the venue matters - for example, you cannot get complimentary coffee in any lounge or bar. You will be charged for it. Just a heads up. ;)

There are literally hundreds of threads for hours of reading enjoyment. :D I'm pretty sure any question you have has already been asked and answered - you don't have to start a new thread, just have some patience and read through the thread titles, or feel free to use the Search function.

Tap water is free. This would include in your cabin, the dining rooms and the buffet. The charge is for bottled water.

Also keep in mind that the prices now might be the same as the prices paid 20 years ago ... now it is up to you what extras you want. ;)

Bring your own empty water bottles to fill to take on tours.

 

Ship water is much better than what comes out of our tap at home.

Also, if you like to have soda, they sell a package that gives you unlimted fountain drinks, for about 5 dollars a day, which is equivalent to 3 cans of coke a day. It's typically a sticker they put on your cruise card, and you just show that to any bartender and they give you a glass of pop (not a can or bottle). They also usually give you a small glass, but in my experience, most bartenders will give you the large glass if you ask, because they know it's less time they will expect you to come back for refills.
